Introduction

Ryan is a freelance musician who gives professional piano, voice and music composition lessons to all ages and skill levels. He is great for College students who are preparing for auditions, kids who are just getting into music, and adults who are looking to sharpen their skills in music either as a hobby or professionally. Ryan accomplished a Fine Arts degree in Music from STLCC and then went on to complete undergrad studies at the University of Missouri St. Louis, finishing a Bachelors Degree in Music Composition with a minor in Jazz. While attending UMSL, he studied with internationally acclaimed professors including Alla Voskoboynikova for Classical piano, Barbara Harbach for Composition, and Ken Kehner for Jazz piano.  Ryan was recognized with top honors in the class of 2018 receiving a Distinguished Performance in Keyboard award and the Outstanding Music Composition award from the UMSL Music Department as well as being a member of the Honors Society and Deans List. While attending school he also performed and participated in the Concert choir & Jazz Ensembles. Alongside school, Ryan has performed and toured with many rock bands including the Jackson Stokes Band, The Schwag, and Brother Francis & the Soultones along with many other groups and ensembles. He has also led his own groups: the Ryan Benthall Trio, SpaceShip, & Supalight which have gone on to perform at a multitude of Music festivals.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge $90 per hour however with a package of 8 lessons the price is dropped to $80 an hour.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a musician, composer, & pianist originating from St. Louis MO. My private teaching practice began in 2012 and I have pursued an active career in performing, writing & teaching ever since.
