Introduction

Hello! Welcome to my Thumbtack page! I’m Lucas Cypriano - a Brazilian composer, classically trained pianist, and accordionist with over a decade of experience teaching students of all ages and levels and performing as a bandleader and collaborator. My teaching and performances covers Jazz, Classical, Brazilian music, Pop/R&B, as well as Music Theory and Composition/Songwriting. I’ve studied at respected institutions including the Berklee College of Music (Boston), the CIGAM Institute (Rio), and The City College of New York - From where I have my Bachelors in Jazz Studies. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of performing in historic jazz clubs and concert halls across the U.S. and Brazil — including Nublu (NYC), Bottle Bar (Rio), Minton's Playhouse (NYC), Teatro Itália (São Paulo), and Annapolis Symphony Hall (MD).

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I offer different options for online or in-person formats depending on the duration of the classes. Also, I am always interested to know what is doable for each person and to price match with other pros.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I always look to foster a connection and create a judgment-free zone. It is importante for me to listen what they are expecting and what are their goals with music. I tailor the classes for every student. I can teach in English, Spanish or Portuguese.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Along with 27 years of private music instruction and being a classically trained musician, I have studied in well recognized schools such as Berklee College of Music (Boston), CIGAM Institute (Rio de Janeiro) and The City College Of New York - from where I have my Bachelors in Jazz Studies

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started teaching music with 16-17 yeas old after having some experience playing as a professional musician.

I work with people from all ages and levels, I have already helped people from 6 to 60+ to learn music.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I am proud of every student I had, not only musically but also about the relationship we build over time.
