$25 for half-hour $32.50 for 45 minutes

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Ask about music background. Explain that music is another form of expression to enjoy and develop. Physical exercises to relax muscles. If a child, develop high-low concepts with body, voice and on keyboard (black keys). Proper posture at piano, proper arm/hand posture. Finger exercises. Begin orientation of left/right hand up/down keyboard. Begin location of certain notes up/down keyboard (C, E, D) Amount of information per lesson depends on each student's abilities, which are respected.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I became actively involved in music when I obtained a church position as vocalist/organist at my parish church. Also, friend requested lessons for her children. Nieces and nephews requested lessons. I acquired more students through advertisements and word of mouth.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked mainly with elementary age children as beginners as well as adults. I enjoy working with both.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Check out the provider's credentials and background check. Good rapport is just as important as credentials. Also, flexibility with hours should be considered (i.e., willingness to reschedule missed lessons or change a lesson time, etc.).

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What age of students the teacher prefers. Length of lessons. Flexibility of lessons. Location of lessons.
