***Please read*** ***All lessons are conducted virtually. Thank you!*** ~~~~~ I'm a classically trained piano teacher with 15 years’ experience. My lessons are warm, upbeat, and filled with a balance of all the skills needed to jumpstart both classical music and contemporary styles as well! As a homeschool graduate, I began college early at age 15 for music theory and performance. I've taught at the Music Academy of Acadiana (in 2014, the year they were voted #1 music academy in the USA out of a pool of 75+ schools), as well as at schools in Austin TX (the "live music capitol") and privately. I am currently pursuing a teaching certification from the Royal Conservatory of Music, where some of my students are preparing to take exams. I favor the Piano Safari method, which is unique in that it doesn’t merely teach music reading through the medium of the piano - it forms well-rounded musicians who not only read extremely well, but also have excellent musicality and technique. My students also gain a deep understanding of theory and harmony through studying contemporary music! All my lessons are online, via video chat and digital lesson materials, and my students love the convenience of not leaving home! I use a lesson-specific video chat platform, which has excellent audio capabilities, and I utilize a two-camera setup so my students always have an excellent view of my hands.
