Introduction

I'm a Chicago based violinist and music educator. As a certified music teacher you can be assured that you're being taught by a true educator as well as an expert violinist. My goal is to not only give exceptional violin instruction, but to create positive learning experiences and true musicians.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Lessons are sold in packages of 4. I offer 1/2 hr lessons for $45 and hour long lessons are $55. Travel lessons at your location have an add on fee starting at $10-$20. Lessons are booked upon purchase and I offer one reschedule per period.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
There are a few questions I ask before we meet to establish a baseline. Then, on our first lesson we will dive right in! If you already have experience playing I'll ask you to play something you already know, we'll work on it, and then introduce new material. If a student is brand new to the instrument we'll go over the basics and I'll have them playing a simple tune by the end of the lesson.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a Bachelors of Music in instrumental music education & secondary education, a teaching certificate, and experience with private and classroom music teaching.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
A terrible private teacher can ruin the experience, especially with younger students. While it’s normal to feel uncomfortable or frustrated in lessons, a strong relationship with your teacher is what brings you forward. Go with your gut, listen to your child, and find a teacher you look forward to seeing every week.
