I also attended the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts (NOCCA), focusing on jazz guitar. I have experience in both solo and ensemble performance, including jazz big band and chamber ensembles.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Consider a teacher’s experience and expertise in the specific styles you want to learn. Look for someone with a proven track record that aligns with your musical interests. It's also crucial to choose a teacher who makes you feel comfortable and motivated, and who can adapt their lesson planning to your individual needs and progress.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What are my musical goals? Clearly define what you want to achieve before talking to a teacher, and try to be as specific as possible. How much time will I have each week for practice? Since practice is crucial to progress, assess how much time you can realistically dedicate before deciding on lessons. Is this the right teacher for me? Ask about the teacher’s methods and the lesson plans they will develop. Understanding their approach will help you determine if they are the right fit for your needs.
