Introduction

Frederick Lingenfelser is a premier piano and drum instructor based in Cape Coral, FL, who aims to inspire students of all ages and skill levels to be the musicians they want to become. In addition to in-person lessons at his studio in Cape Coral, he offers high-quality remote lessons to students throughout the country, and teaches over 50 students each week from coast to coast. Frederick spent five years as a touring and studio musician, traveling throughout the country and internationally, and understands the exciting opportunities that playing music can bring. Just as Frederick realized his dreams, he wants to inspire kids and other adults to be able to realize theirs, whether it’s to learn to read music, become more versed in music theory, serve on their church worship team, write and record songs, or even become a touring musician. Contact Frederick today for a free intro session to see if he might be a great fit as an instructor for you or your kiddo.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My half hour rate is $20, my 45-minute rate is $30, and my hour rate is $40. I usually recommend half hour sessions once per week for most kids, and longer sessions for teens and adults.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I individualize all of my lessons based on a student's age, skill level, and musical interests. I am constantly trying to adapt to my students' learning styles, so that I can always teach in ways they can best grasp. The first session allows me to formulate a good plan for teaching the student, and lets the student make sure they think I'm a good fit to teach them. Oh...and the first session is free! :)

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've always loved playing music, and after living out some of my own dreams as a musician, I became inspired to teach others and help instill the same passions in them that I have. What started out as a few lessons in between tours quickly turned into teaching over 40 students of all ages each week.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have taught students of all ages and skill levels, including students as young as 3 years old. I believe that playing music can be for everyone, and I proudly teach students on the spectrum.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
While I am proud of the talents and gifts that I've been blessed with, I believe the most important aspects of being a good instructor have nothing to do with music. They include showing patience, kindness, flexibility, and having a friendly smile. Students can be inspired or turned off to an instrument, or really anything, simply based on the character of the instructor. To me, all the education degrees and talents in the world are meaningless if the instructor doesn't have a heart to inspire and encourage his or her students. I always strive to be someone who inspires.
