Introduction

Hello, I’m Chris, a cello and guitar teacher in Nashville, TN. I’ve taught for over 10 years, including seminars and classes at colleges in NY, Illinois, and Iowa. I have 20 years of experience in the music industry, performing over 1,100 shows, playing on over 30 studio albums, and composing for films, Youtube series, and podcasts. I even did a tour on a canoe on the Erie Canal from Buffalo to NYC. I hold degrees from Full Sail University, with additional undergrad and graduate classes from SUNY Fredonia, Suzuki training, inclusivity, and safety training through Music ConstructED. I am a mandatory child safety reporter for Tennessee and can provide a recent background check. Teaching is my passion. I strive to assist my students in exploring their own individual passions, encourage them to engage in critical thinking, help them to persevere through challenges, and empower them to cultivate their own voice and creative process through play. If you have any questions, reach out to me anytime. And if you’re ready for lessons, sign up below. I’ll see you in class!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
$27 for 30 min, $38 for 45 min $50 for an hour.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I want you to enjoy music, whether it's learning your favorite piece on the cello, rocking out on guitar, learning jazz, music theory, or songwriting.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Right now I have students playing in worship groups, preparing for auditions, playing in chamber groups and orchestras, in jazz combos, bands, you name it. I offer 30, 45, and 60-minute lessons online and at my studio in Nashville. I have 10+ years of experience teaching private lessons in addition to teaching seminars on songwriting and music business. I've played guitar and bass for 25 years, cello for 19 years which resulted in over 1,100 shows, performed on 40+ albums and composed for radio, television, and internet video series, featured in the New York Times, on the CBS Evening News, NPR and recently played at the Grand Olde Opry.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started teaching when I was a teen. My high school band teacher was sick of me not practicing. She told me that a kid in town wanted drum lessons and asked if I would do it. Trying to keep him from getting "ahead" of me motivated me to practice.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I currently have 40 students between the ages of 10 and 75. They span students on their track to college to hobbyists looking to enrich their lives.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Find out your goals if you can and look for someone who can help you reach them.
