Introduction

I am classically trained with a secondary in jazz guitar. I have exceptional technique and use it for all styles of music. This is how my students climb the ladder faster than others. I also have an exceptional ear, I haven't heard anything I cannot play, so when you bring me something I'll be able to process it right away and begin showing it to you. I am a people person. I love meeting new people and showing them that "Yes, I can do this!" You can check out some of our studio recordings on Spotify, and ITunes under the band name “Seven To Zero” My studio is in Livonia 48150.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I charge 30.00 per half hour, 45.00 per 45 min, 60.00 per hour. Also, I prefer one on one interactive lessons but I have been getting inquiries about group lessons and Skype/FaceTime lessons which I do teach both! With a group lessons setting there will be an additional cost (pending on the situation IE how many students, and what the needs of each are.). With Skype/FaceTime the cost is the same.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I always make sure to screen my new students for their goals and needs. For example, If your here to learn how to pick and grin but do not prefer learning to read music, that’s what we’ll do! If you prefer to delve into the theory of music as well, great! We’ll divide the lesson up in two parts: 1) working on reading notation/theory and 2) learning how to get better at the instrument!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I'm always learning new ways to interpret the guitar. Right now I am currently redefining my teaching approach based on the C-A-G-E-D system

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I’m a people person that loves music and performs regularly.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All ages from 3-88 years old. No lie! I’ve taught students with Aspergers, autism, adt, adht, and definitely ocd. I believe in the idea that skill trumps talent. Anyone can learn how to play the guitar if your passionate about it. To me, passion and diligence defines the word “talent.”

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I’ve recently recorded in the studio with our band Seven To Zero (Spotify and ITunes) this is the band students have the option to play with at my annual “student jam session.” Usually in the summer.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Check they’re experience and education. Some are better than others.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
One thing is to know which genres of music your interested in which will help in our understanding of which style and techniques of the guitar you’d like to learn. I will ask you this when screening upon first consultation and of course go into more detail about the advantages to each of what I’ve described below.. There’s two basic styles/techniques for guitar that have sub categories. Flat pick (using a “pick”) A) standard strumming B) scales and arpeggios and the different types of picking for both (alternate and economy/sweep picking) Fingerstyle A) classical B) flamenco/rosquiado C) rock a billy (pick fingerstyle combo) Also, please let me know if your interested in learning how to read notation. I believe it’s very important but some people just wanna learn how to play songs quickly!
