Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
The first session is always free and I can offer discount if the student wishes to pay for lessons in advance.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
New customers are always offered a free thirty minute session, in-person or online, to discuss their goals and vocal aspirations, as well as history and previous vocal and musical challenges.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I hold a Doctorate in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy with over ten years experience teaching at the college level. I also have a twenty year professional career, and still perform regularly at such venues as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started teaching when I was in college, and was inspired by my own vocal teacher. She was the first person I had ever known that had done a doctorate in voice, and I knew it would be a career path that would be dynamic and academic as well as fun and performance oriented.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I work with all kinds of singers from beginners to seasoned Broadway professionals. Many dancers, actors, voice over artists, musical theatre performers and classically trained opera singers. Basically anyone who loves to sing or who wants help to find their true and best voice.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
In addition to being a professor of voice and professional singer, I have produced recordings of Broadway revivals. One favorite is my 2015 release of Jerome Kern’s 1922 Broadway hit “Sally”, which is was the first complete digital recording of musical ever recorded, and is now one of many recordings I have available for download on Amazon, iTunes and Spotify.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I advise you to compare prices for teachers with comparable academic qualifications and midtown manhattan location. If after a free consultation lesson you don’t feel we are a good fit, you will not be out any financial loss.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
No need to think anything else, if you’ve come this far, you want to sing and improve and owe it to yourself to give a free lesson a try.
