Introduction

With 14 years, nearly 5,000 hours of teaching experience and 20 years of personal yoga and fitness experience, I have a number of helpful tools in my arsenal to help private yoga and training clients build strength, gain flexibility, and intelligently connect with their body and mind through a yoga practice. My teaching focuses on cultivating awareness, self-compassion, mobility, strength, healthy movement patterns and practical application of yoga philosophy to improve your overall quality of life. I’m known for my ability to accessibly share this practice, breaking down postures and movements in an accessible and relatable way, for optimal understanding. Whether a beginner or seasoned practitioner, injured or energized, young or old, flexible or not, groups or individuals... I truly have experience teaching yoga to people of all walks of life for all purposes, and am here to help!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My sessions are purchased in packages, with 4 minimum to start, going up to 8 sessions booked within 2 months. Each session is 60 minutes. Learning takes time, as does progress! Packages are paid in advance via Zelle, Venmo or cash/check and then scheduled once we agree on what works. I always send over a receipt of payment once received, before our first session. Rescheduling sessions is flexible, within reason. I do charge a $50 travel fee per package for clients outside a 20 mile radius of Vista.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Once you contact me with interest, I may ask to set up an intake call to find out more about your goals, lifestyle, and experience with yoga. During that conversation I will also ask about how many sessions you're interested in booking, and we can discuss scheduling and payment for our first session before wrapping up. I will follow up our call with an email recapping the points we made clear such as: goals, number of sessions, price and payment terms, and preliminary scheduling. The email will also include policy and waiver attachments for you to sign and return to me before our first session.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I've been teaching 14 years with nearly 5,000 hours of teaching experience, in addition to holding the highest yoga training certificate of 500HR (in addition to other trainings) and 20 years of personal practice experience. I've taught in all settings: yoga studios, gyms, homes, backyards, front yards, parks, festivals, retreats and corporate offices. I am trained, equipped and comfortable teaching all walks of life! I’m registered with Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT500 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher at the 500HR level). My teaching focuses on safe biomechanics in yoga postures to set the groundwork for a sustainable physical practice. I also teach simple, accessible aspects of the practice beyond poses as tools to use in your daily life off the mat to help you manage anxiety and stress.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Teaching yoga is my calling and what fills me up! I am in love with helping people feel better and empowering them with the tools of a yoga practice. I began practicing yoga in 2004, then moved to teaching in 2011 with the desire to give back what I'd been given with yoga, which is a deep refuge of peace and strength. In 2017, I stepped into a long-held dream of teaching yoga full time, and I’m grateful to all the students and clients who continue to make that possible ever since.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All kinds. I have worked with injured clients to successfully rehab them back to strength and mobility. I've worked with "tweens" (children between 10-12) to help them manage stress and cultivate confidence. I've therapeutically worked with handicapped, wheelchair-bound yogis, athletes, and busy working people who want to move more but need the accountability that private yoga offers. I also have experience working with pre/post-natal mothers, seasoned practitioners looking to advance, new yoga teachers, and of course, eager students brand new to yoga.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Each one of my clients are so different, with their own story and motivation for seeking 1:1 sessions, so it's hard to describe a favorite. The uniqueness of each client calls on me to tap into different aspects of my teaching, and because I love teaching and I love people--I can't say I have ONE recent favorite "project." I do really love working with students who are eager and open to learning about the practice, and had the opportunity to work with someone just like that recently over the course of 4 weeks. We had several "lightbulb" moments while working together, figuring out the best alignment and practices for *their* body, and they found it very useful to understand the underlying purpose of yoga asana in the first place.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure their background of experience resonates with what you need or desire in working with a yoga teacher. There are so many styles of yoga and approaches to this practice. They should be organized and professional, yet friendly and welcoming. Absolutely make sure their personality jives well with yours!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Most important would be to think about what your goals or motivations are for seeking private instruction, and be really clear on your expectations.
