Introduction

Having coached and been in many swim teams as well as taught for almost 10 years, I inspire my work from my athletic background of decades of competing and being surrounded by Olympic and world class athletes. I adapt traditional rules of swimming with my own eurekas and ahaha moments I had in my 40 years of swimming and share with the student. I seek to unveil in each student the hidden teacher within so that the student does not blindly and robotically follow instructions but find the instructions that best fit them. By having them experience and experiment various scenarios or drills on their own, they truly find the connection with their anatomy, body mechanics, the water and their why ( swimming happily facilitates learning). Only then the student will truthfully anchor the techniques via muscle memory and make swim movements a new and desirable reflex. This Swim 3.0 version: the foundations of the sport while remaining fun and challenging! I do that by using games, along with land exercises like yoga for flexibility and pilates for core and cross breeding swim drills from water polo for conditioning and underwater hockey for lung capacity improvement. Introductory price for new students: 3 classes for the price of 1 @ 140$. 4 PACKAGES OPTIONS: 1)Casual Splasher :1400$ 10 sessions-never expires. 2)Hustler Hammer Shark: 950$ 10 sessions- expires in 3 months 3)Power Piranha: 850$ 10 sessions- expires in 1 month. 4)Life Time Swimmer: buy 5 consecutive packages and get Free Lessons for your lifetime!!! Nonetheless there are the pools I found over the years that are more lenient and can be less crowded. The lesson conditions may not be ideals. 1)Oakland Sports Center 2)Oceana High School in Pacifica 3)Private Rentals or pools memberships available on Swimply 4)Day passes in Hotels on ResortPass.com Drop ins in public pools are about 10$ and private rental can vary from 20$ to over 100$. Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
$950 for 10 session package. $120 for drop in sessions. Package to be used within 3 months.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
For my most typical customer, I present the 10 session Learn-to-Swim Program. I assess the client, find out the client s motivation, disclose about limitations & expectations of learning to swim. I advice on swim props and aids (fins, noddles, pull boy, buoyancy shorts) if applicable and home programs (yes you can practice swim skills in your tub and improve skills on land).

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have thought in many environments and with various demographics: from toddlers to teenagers to shy adults. I worked at Sacramento Pipe Works, Lake Tahoe Community College teaching indoor cycling and coaching the swim masters program. I lifeguarded in public pools for the City of Paris and in private pool parties. I hold many certifications as attached and was a former Division I swimmer specializing in the 200 meters Butterfly. I swam nationals so I had the experience with world athletes. I also have experience from working with infants and para athletes, vision impaired for which I carry the Adaptive Swim certification with Swim Whispers. I coached many swim teams ( San Francisco Seals and LWM High School).

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have always being in the athletic world and was a competitive swimmer since age 7. I realized that making the leap into the profession of teaching swimming would be a good fit and continue to be a passionate life style. As far as for yoga, I started practicing much later than swimming and soon was intrigued by it. So I decided to try to spread out how liberating and therapeutical it can be with others!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have thought in many environments and with a broad demographic from toddlers to teenagers and hesitant adults. I also thought adaptive swimming with kids with disbilities.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I have thought a 14 year old during the summer months of 2015 to prepare him for competitive swimming in the fall. He was always laughing while doing burpees or push ups because I would make him work hard without him even realizing it. He looked forward to every practice and I was fond of his giggles and laughts!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would say looking for a provider that is willing, uplifting and is a swimmer at heart. I believe it is up to the customer to have a good feeling about the provider and not focus obsessively on a particular point.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Logistics: location, price and frequency of sessions. Personal factors: experience and methodology. Customers should think through how well the professional is going to be able to address the customers unique issues, wants and/or desires while still attaining swim skills benchmarks.
