Introduction

Thank you for your interest in yoga and to consider me for guidance on your mat! I have a REAL passion for Yoga in my life and especially among my students and what an honor to be a part of your personal journey. Whether you suffer from daily stress, pain/stiffness (neck, back, knees), or lack of self-acceptance and confidence, I am here to help you realize the benefits of yoga and more. To know if I am a good fit for your health goals and challenges I offer a 45-minute introductory yoga session. Based on the outcome, I then create custom-tailored sessions to fit your schedule and your needs, and we typically meet for one session per week. I serve the Bay Area and Central Coast. I am here for further questions, concerns and availability to begin your personal journey wherever you are in Life. Also inquire about Community Classes for special events (i.e. Birthdays, Bachelorette, business retreats, etc)! My Light & Gratitude, Jasmine J VIIIBZ Yoga

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
During our 30 minute session I will ask a few questions to get a sense of your needs, goals, and formulate a plan to guide you through your journey whether you're looking to strengthen through injuries or deepen your practice (meet in person at preferred space). I will provide a place to express yourself such as your current mood, physical energy, and/or an observation in a journal (I will provide) each time we meet.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am a certified RYT-200 Yoga Instructor and have 101 Teaching Hours. I regularly practice yoga from home and in various studios.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My yoga journey began about 6 years ago when my friend invited me to try Bikram Hot Yoga. We would regularly run 6-10 miles a couple times a week and she heard yoga could help tightness and pain in the lower body. When I entered the hot room I could not ignore the “stink” and the mustiness of it. I felt uncomfortable and was not sure what to expect in the next 90 minutes. The instructor was strict and didn’t encourage drinking water or stepping out of the room. Crazy right?! It was the hardest 90 minutes of my life and incomparable to running long distance. I sweat easily, so you can imagine the pools of sweat surrounding my mat-it was totally gross, but the feeling I had at the end was prolific. The weight off my shoulders disappeared and I never felt so limber and soft in my joints and muscles. Soon after I’d come back to the hot room a few times a week and saw minute progression in each posture. I relocated to Yakima, WA for school pursuing my professional career full time and was flat broke. So, I stuck with running outside and yoga on YouTube. I happened to be driving by a yoga studio and was curious so I checked it out. Boom! Deja Vu of how I felt after practicing in the hot room and so I kept going. I wanted to continue my practice there, but still flat broke. The studio was looking for Karma Yogis (volunteers) to work the desk in exchange for free yoga and I immediately took the opportunity. The owner started her first Teacher Training a year after and I thought “What is there to lose?” if I train to be a Yoga Instructor. So, not knowing what was next for me I stepped in with both feet. Summer 2017 was pivotal to awareness of who I am, what I can do, and how I can bring my Light onto others. I became aware of my bravery to adapt to change, my vulnerability, my freedom, and my compassion to serve others. I knew I was a nice person, but I didn’t realize how much I give of myself and what a good way to do that through yoga. I love yoga. And more so, I love connecting with others and gaining the opportunity to know their story. My Heart to Yours, Jassy

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked with all levels of yogis, but often work with those who recently discovered Yoga and those who have practice in the past, but left for various reasons and would like to return. No matter where we are in our lives there is always space to learn, grow, and to embrace our selves as a whole which ultimately changes our world!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
New to Monterey and eager to meet the Yoga Community, I hosted my first "Yoga in the Sand" at Monterey Municipal Beach and what a turnout! (See pictures) After teaching in studio classes for over a year, I was ready to explore new spaces by teaching at various studios, opening the yoga practice to local residents, and most recently to my fellow colleagues at Natividad Medical Center in Salinas, CA at no cost. I believe everyone who experience pain at any level should try yoga and as an instructor it is my responsibility to open the doors who seek it.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
If you are curious of how yoga can serve you, but not sure if my private service is a good fit, schedule a 45 min intro practice with me. The first step is to try and answers to such questions may lead you to pathways you never knew existed!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Do I have a space that is quiet and without distractions for 60 minutes? What are my health goals and needs? What do I hope to get out of my experience with a private yoga instructor? Am I open to trying things out of my comfort zone i.e. challenging postures, essential oils for healing?
