Introduction

I’ve been teaching all levels of yoga for 12 years now from heated power vinyasa to restorative/yin and it’s so important to me to be able to spread the knowledge and awareness of all of its healing benefits. I offer private sessions covering flexibility, strength, clean eating programs, pranayama breathwork to cope with anxiety and stress, as well as sessions focused on any physical ailments you might have and teaching healthy and accessible movements to increase mobility, healthy tissue and pain management of the body. I’m a knowledgeable but have an easy-going and caring personality and have been teaching private lessons for 9 years now, so I’m an expert at making any situation NOT an awkward one! Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My rate is $120/class with 1 person and some additional travel costs but can negotiate fees if you’re wanting to meet multiple times a week as I offer class packages of 5, 10, and 20 sessions. Payment in full up front is required.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Let’s chat as much as possible beforehand about any injuries/pains you may have that affect your range of motion. Tell me all about what you’re looking to get out of the private session. We’ll figure out times throughout the week and a location that works best for you! The first time we meet up, I’ll take some time to seek out your range of motion, flexibility, strength, etc and we’ll go from there!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I received my 200 hour RYT certificate through YogaMazé based out of LA in February of 2015 and my 300 hour RYT through Meghan Currie Yoga in Nicaragua in 2016. I’m also Reiki levels 1 and 2 certified. I currently help lead a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in the Southlake area a few times a year and teach upwards of 15 classes a week.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I was living in Thailand teaching English. There were no gyms or places to run safely in the village I lived in and my body and mind were needing a way to move all the stressful energy I had from teaching. I bought a mat from a shop and started practicing from YouTube videos! I’ve never stopped practicing since.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Literally ALL bodies and all levels of yoga, from someone who can barely sneeze without having low back pain to more advanced practitioners.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I started a donation-based community yoga class in the Denton area as a way to provide more access to the practice. What started off every Saturday morning with two or 3 people showing up to class eventually led to upwards of 25 people coming to class! I’m so proud of the consistency and close-knit relationship with the community to be able to sustain a donation-based community class like this.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure the yoga instructor really understands any pains/injuries in your body and supports you and provides you with the tools and props to hear the class to your own specific physical and mental needs!
