Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing starts at $75 for a private meditation session, and $80 for a private yoga class. I will provide price estimates on demand for group classes, workshops, trainings, events etc.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
With private yoga teaching or meditation classes, I work with the unique needs of the student - whether that is tight shoulders, stress & anxiety or growing spiritually - the student is my guide! I like to set up a short get-to-know-you call before our first session, so that I can determine the goals & needs of the student.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am a certified yoga teacher 200YTT, and studied under Rodney Yee & Colleen Saidman. The style of yoga that I teach is Yoga Shanti (a style created & taught by Rodney & Colleen) - it is one of the most welcoming, uplifting and safest styles of yoga to practice, there truly is a place for anyone willing to step onto a yoga mat. I am also a certified meditation practitioner, and have worked with several private meditation clients.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I am a mum of 3 young kids - my background is in sociology, social work and forensic psychology, and I spent a decade providing services to adults with developmental disabilities. I transitioned to holistic wellness, because I saw the immense lack of self-care that goes on amongst so many mums. I help mums to make this happen, through a focus on mindfulness, meditation, yoga…and all in a very realistic, mum-friendly, way. I offer group yoga classes, 1:1 yoga, courses, workshops, retreats and 1:1 meditation coaching. And often you can find me coaching myself to take care of myself every day, because this is a journey, and I sometimes struggle just as much as the next mum!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with everyone from tweens to 75 year old grandmas, to pre & postnatal to experts, and everyone in between. There truly is a place on the yoga mat for everyone.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently worked with a non-profit, curating a health & wellness class for carers. When we take care of others, it is essential that we care for ourselves, but that is often quite challenging. I introduced the concept of mindfulness & meditation, and how they can fit that into their busy lives. We did a guided meditation, some different breath techniques and mindfulness exercises. I also gave them some techniques to take home with them, so that they could have some mindfulness ideas in their back pocket.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Before committing to a series of yoga classes, do your research, know what you want, ask questions, and set up a time to chat on the phone. It's really important that the teacher and student connect, and it's OK to know that not everyone will.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Do I need any experience in yoga? What equipment will I need? What if I need to cancel the class. Do you give refunds? Think about what injuries or weaknesses you have, and let the teacher know so they can figure out the class accordingly.
