Brittany offers 1-on-1 yoga therapy, meditation and conscious fitness training and Sarah offers reiki and sound healing. Both healers have thousands of hours of training in their respective fields as well as extensive backgrounds in the modern business arena, offering a unique balance of rhyme and reason that make your classes and sessions a truly uncommon experience. It is our passion to offer our uncommon sense of natural healing to our community and help restore faith in the power that each of your individual willpowers has to guide your health and wellbeing from wherever you may find yourself today. Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I am not cheap but I am experienced and able to offer adaptable wellness solutions that fit with your needs and lifestyles. If you don’t receive what we agreed upon, I would never ask for your money.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We do preliminary conversations on Thumbtack where I ensure I can meet your needs, am available at a time you are available, and pricing is in budget. From there we talk or text on the phone so we have each others contact details and arrange our first meeting, either at the studio or at a client’s chosen locale for a travel fee ($15-$35 depending on distance). Payment can be made via cash, Venmo @uncommonsensestudio or through the uncommonsensestudio.com website.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
500HR Hatha Yoga, 200HR Kundalini Yoga, 400HR Ayurvedic Practitioner, 800HR Yoga Therapy & B.S. in Business Administration

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
In 2012 I (Brittany) was hit by a car as a pedestrian crossing the street, which wound up causing a traumatic brain injury and herniated disc in my lower back. Modern medicine gave me so many limitations in my recovery but I had a more hopeful heart, so I went to India and stayed at an Ayurvedic Yoga Village in the rain forest for 300+ hours of training and experience. After restoring my body far beyond the expectations of my U.S. doctors, I further learned to heal and advance my bodies in ways I never knew existed and became passionate in growing that knowledge and sharing it with my community.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All ages and all kinds who have a common thread of believing their body is capable of better and more and their lifestyle only improves with natural insight and opportunities.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I worked with a community center to design an arts program incorporating the chakras into their art! Everyone was just so excited and engaged. It was two months of planning and six months of workshops meeting once a month.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Take your time. If it doesn’t feel right, wait until it does. Your body, mind and soul growth and healing shouldn’t be put in the hands of someone unless you can trust them.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Ask a professional about past experiences they have with clients like you and cases/events/situations like yours. Make sure they have training that’s professional and accredited. Ask for lineages of yoga if you’re interested in more than just a stretch, and real yogi will love to share their passion for the practice and dedication to or formation of their styling.
