Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I offer new student a free consultation to go over goals and history, followed by an introduction session, then we’ll explore our class packages to structure a personalized program to help you meet your goals.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to start with an initial consultation, via Zoom or in person— to see if we are a good fit for each other, and that way I can begin tailoring a practice to you and your individual needs. We will go over your yoga history, body history, injuries, goals of the practice, how often you want to practice, and any questions you may have for me. Weekday afternoons and weekend mornings work best for me!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I studied Universal Yoga (Hatha, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa) at Vikasa Academy, in Thailand.🙏🏼 Besides my yogic training, my background in professional dance training has helped me immensely. I attended Joffrey Ballet School’s trainee program, here in NYC. I also attended Oklahoma City University, the #2 dance school in the nation. At that time, it was the #1 Dance program for Broadway style Jazz, specifically. These prestigious programs educated me on the body—anatomically, and allotted me a deep understanding of passionate movement, connecting the body to the mind and heart.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I first started doing yoga because I heard that it could make me taller! Lol, seriously! I've always wanted to be a Rockette, and I needed an extra 1/2 inch for the audition! Hahaha I continued to pursue yoga on a deeper note. Just as my professional dance career began taking off, my health failed me. Kidney disease overtook my life and left me bedridden with high levels of chronic pain(PFD), along with chronic illness. I lost my career, moved back in with my parents and sought medical treatment. 3 years later, Yoga pulled me out of bed and got me moving when I could hardly do anything else. Between making a few important lifestyle changes, and implementing yoga into my daily routine, I have made a complete recovery, and regained my life!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
My clients tend to vary greatly! The more active ones are triathlon competitors, martial artists, CEO’s, professional dancers, bodybuilders, ex-military (Marines). I also work with those looking to reduce stress and anxiety, those wanting lose weight and increase activity levels! I also enjoy teaching Dance to those that are “just getting back out there”, and needing a little help with rhythm. I absolutely love teaching dance to children, ages 4-18!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Soutenu Wellness Club recently hosted a three day private yoga and wellness retreat in the Hamptons, NY. We partnered with local vendors and healers, bringing culture and sustainability through empowering healthy living to the 12 attendees. The event was planned and executed in less than 30 days, which was a huge accomplishment for the club. Overall, it was a great success and an incredible weekend. We’ve been invited back to continue facilitating this healing work with these energetic, beautiful, and powerful individuals. SWC is looking forward to hosting many more like this! Message us or send a booking request via our website to book your private yoga and wellness retreat!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Connection is everything. If you don't feel connected to your instructor, then you must keep looking. Look for someone who connects with your story, or shares similar experiences. Your guru should be someone who is revered as wise, but who also has your back.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Do you want a long, active life? Are you willing to make a few, impactful lifestyle changes so that you’ll be able to play with your grandchildren? Are you ready to invest in your mental and physical health?
