Introduction

I pursue an empowering style of teaching. I strive to create a place for my clients to make space for themselves and cultivate a self awareness, in order for that same grace and awareness to carry out into their lives, relationships, and beyond. On a technical level, I am a stickler for good alignment and want to pass that same knowledge onto my clients in order for their practice to become a healthy long term addition to their lives, one that has longevity and grows with them. c r e a t i v e A f f e c t is based on offering an environment where yoga is accessible for everyone, every body type, everywhere, meeting the person where he/she is. Bringing the right amount of cultivation and challenge through breath and asana, I use my studies in Vinyasa, Bikram, and ballroom dance to create a centered, affective, fulfilling class for each one of my students. Creating sequences to cater to my clients' specific needs, where the overall goal is to create an environment where clients can connect to themselves and beyond. After receiving my BFA in Media and Theatre Performance, I also acquired my DVIDA certification, recognized by the National Dance Council of America, which I am a member of today. I have won various titles in the American Rhythm competitive dance circuit. In addition, I am the highest level of yoga certified, RYT-500+. This combination of yoga and dance allows me great insight and unique knowledge into my clients’ needs. I also hold my Master’s in Yoga Studies, with a Yoga Therapy concentration alongside my certificate in Clinical Yoga Therapy. I look so forward to helping you achieve your goals. See you on the yoga mat!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Lessons reflect travel time, studio rental, if applicable, one on one instruction, hands on adjustments, and specifically created sequences. Packages and group rates are available.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I am happy to schedule a phone call prior to a yoga session. You will fill out an intake form prior to your first session as well. From there, I create a sequence based around your needs/goals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a BFA in Performance Theatre, as well as my certification by DVIDA, which is recognized by the National Dance Council of America. I have trained with coaches all over the country and currently do to this day. I consistently perform all over California as well. RYT-200 RYT-300 Bridge, 100 program MA, Yoga Studies with Yoga Therapy concentration along with my C-IAYT certification

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started dancing when I was very young, but started pursuing sports. I got back into dancing around the age of 14 and have been grabbing hold of it ever since. I have always been involved with theatre, thus my love of performance naturally fell in line with dance. As a result of dance, I started doing restorative yoga in college. However, once I discovered the sweat producing workout a good vinyasa class could offer, I never looked back! Vinyasa yoga is like a dance, you create your own rhythm between your breath and movement. There’s nothing quite like this specific type of movement! Once learning more about clinical yoga therapy it resonated greatly with purposes and goals I have. It was a no brainer to pursue such a path!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Beginners, advanced, children, people with various physical and mental disabilities, including those that were hard of hearing and autistic, wedding couples, college and high school ages, those well into their 70s, and pre-natal.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
You have got to vibe! Venturing onto the yoga mat can be one of the scariest things to start. You have to feel comfortable with your instructor, you have to feel comfortable in the studio space, and you have to be able to communicate with your instructor. These things are essential. Specifically with yoga, the trainer needs to have the right credentials in order to ensure smartly sequenced sessions, otherwise clients are prone to injury at the hands of a bad sequence.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Understanding that working with the body in any capacity can bring up various emotions and experiences. I want to always create a safe space for my clients. Growth and process take time and varies from person to person. It is important to ask: What are my expectations? Are they realistic? What am I willing to commit to achieve these desired expectations? Start there and be patient with yourself :)
