Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Yoga lessons are typically by the hour and in person. I have a small home studio where clients come to practice, or I can travel to you for a fee of approximately $0.50/mi. I do also offer 30 minute sessions, virtual sessions and discounts for packages. Groups rates are estimates only and there may be some flexibility in pricing for families/couples. Wellness Coaching and/or Virtual Personal Training are offered only as packages as one session just isn’t going to get you the results you’re looking for. Please contact me for my corporate rates.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
New clients and I will discuss medical history as well as current lifestyle routines and goals. In our first session together I will assess your posture, alignment and balance and determine a unique plan that is custom to your unique body. If we are working together for pain, we will move through some posture specific for reducing pain and you can expect to feel better in the very first session. If we are working together for coaching, we will also discuss medical history, current lifestyle routines and goals, as well as discuss your eating habits and come up with some action steps you can take from day one to start working towards your goals. Wellness coaching clients and I typically meet in person once and virtually once each week. Personal training clients and I discuss current fitness ability and goals, I assess your posture and functional movement patterns, then I get to work on designing a program that works for you. In whatever path you choose, clients can expect to feel seen, heard and respected every step of the way. It doesn’t matter if I think X will be the best path forward or if X worked for someone else, what matters is that we find a solution together that you are willing to commit to. The coaching and teaching process is very collaborative and full designed with YOU in mind.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am certified through Yoga Alliance International as an RYT500 and have over 1000+ hours of training and education (2014/2016/2018/2021). I trained in multiple styles including Iyengar, Therapeutic Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative and Somatic Yoga. I am also a Level 2 Reiki teacher Practitioner in both Usui and Shambala Reiki. I am an ACE Certified Personal Trainer (2016) and Health Coach (2020). I am certified by the Functional Aging Institute as a Functional Aging Specialist (2018). I have additional certifications in Fitness Nutrition through NASM (2018) and Behavior Change (2020) through the American Council on Exercise. I also completed a full year mentorship in yoga postures specifically for pain relief in 2022 with Yoga Therapist, Christian Leeby, who was a student of BKS Iyengar himself. In 2023, I became a Somatic Movement Educator after completing a year-long training course with Eleanor Criswell Hanna of Hanna Somatics and the Navato Institute of Somatic Research. Additionally, I consider myself a lifelong student and continually strive to learn more. I am currently in two continuing education programs in adaptive anatomy and philosophy.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I grew up in the fitness industry with my mom as a personal trainer, wellness professional and coach, and I first started working in a gym at 16 years old. I initially tried yoga at about age 10 and hated it that first time! I didn't find yoga again until I was in my early 20s. Following a sudden death in my family, I was diagnosed with narcolepsy and required medication to function but still suffered many sleep attacks daily. After searching for a yoga teacher in India who I trusted would be able to help me, I found someone. Within the first 2 weeks of working with my teacher daily, I was completely symptom free and haven't had another sleep attack episode in nearly 9 years. Now I am passionate about sharing yoga and holistic wellness with those who are seeking health, healing and happiness.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with an incredibly diverse population, from beginners to teaching teachers, from private instruction to large groups, and from fitness enthusiasts to those still on the fence about exercise. For corporate wellness programs and offerings, I have worked with every size from start-ups and small businesses all the way to government organizations and Fortune 500 companies. No company is too big or too small to benefit from offering wellness to their employees. Privately, I enjoy most of all working with women of all ages, seniors and those who suffer from chronic pain, injuries or illnesses. My dream client is someone who is as excited as I am to show up and do the work because they want true and lasting change.
