What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We accept payment in cash, check, credit card or Vimo. Fees are sometimes a fixed fee where we have a good understanding of what work is involved - the scope of the project or engagement, and the engagement stays within that scope, or by the hour for "open-ended" projects where the scope cannot be predicted. Defending litigation is always open-ended

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We prefer to meet personally if possible, though the "zoom" platform is available. On meeting the potential client we like to find out a little about them so we have a better idea of their frame of reference and expectations, and have them describe in their own words (not legal words), what they want or need to accomplish. Then we try to tell them what legal steps are required to accomplish that goal, what that will cost, how long that will take.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Law degree (J.D.) from Emory University in Atlanta and Dean's Certificate of Advanced Study in Commercial Law from Temple University in Philadelphia. Admitted to practice law in Florida, Pennsylvania, New York and Washington, DC. As required by the Bar, continuing legal education to remain current in the law as it changes

How did you get started doing this type of work?

After military service (which followed law school) I practiced law with a law firm in Philadelphia, then in the legal department of a bank there, and moved to Miami in 1980 and have worked with large and small law firms here, and on my own as a solo practitioner.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Clients include individuals, entrepreneurs, real estate investors and developers, small to mid-sized businesses and institutions.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask questions. Compare. Research on the internet but do not try to do it yourself. It always costs more to undo a botched job than to have simply done what needs to be done.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Think about what is your objective, what do you want to accomplish by calling a lawyer. What do you want accomplish when the end of the project is reached. Not in legal terms, that's our job, but in regular real people terms.
