Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Our fees for a simple transaction such as drafting a deed or preparing an estate plan are usually at a flat rate. If service to our client requires a longer, more involved representation then we establish an hourly rate.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We like to sit down face to face with a new client to discuss their needs and goals and to learn about who they are as a person. A telephone or email conversation will be utilized if more convenient.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I graduated from Suffolk University Law School in 1999 and have been actively practicing law ever since. I make sure to keep up with the latest changes in the law and court procedures.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My father is a lawyer and I followed in his footsteps.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with clients ranging from large corporations to private individuals.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently put together an estate plan for a client who was leaving the country in a few days. I put everything together in 24 hours and we had the plan signed and executed before he left on his business trip. He and his wife were pleased to have their minds put at ease and I was happy to help out a young family.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Hiring a lawyer can be a very personal decision. Make sure that you feel comfortable with the person you choose to represent you and take care of your affairs.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
If a project is tie sensitive make sure the person can meet any deadline you have. Realize that many legal matters cannot be solved in minutes or an hour. If costs are a concern, get a firm price before committing to a service.
