Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Our pricing is based on the scope and complexity of each project. We provide detailed, transparent estimates so there are no surprises along the way. And typically, we only undertake projects of $15,000+. The reason for this is that our costs for executing a smaller project often exceed the revenue generated by completing the work. While we don't typically offer discounts, we do help our clients find cost-effective solutions without compromising quality. We also handle all permitting and planning in-house, which can save time and reduce external costs.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We start with a free consultation to understand your goals, vision, and budget. From there, we move into a design and planning phase—this includes architectural plans, engineering, and permits. Once everything is approved, we begin construction and keep you updated every step of the way. You’ll have one dedicated team from start to finish.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Our team is made up of licensed contractors, experienced project managers, and skilled designers who have years of hands-on experience in residential construction. We stay current with California building codes, energy efficiency requirements, and design trends to offer both safe and stylish results.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Guy Oren (CEO & Founder) envisioned the concept of a top-notch, one-stop shop kind of setup in the San Francisco Bay Area that can fulfill the dreams of homeowners through customized remodeling solutions. Promodeling Inc. was founded out of a passion for helping homeowners transform their spaces. What started as a small, local remodeling company grew into a full-service design-build firm. We’ve built our reputation on trust, quality, and transparency—and that continues to be our foundation today.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We’ve worked with a wide range of residential clients—first-time homeowners, growing families, and property investors—on everything from kitchen remodels to ADU builds and full home renovations. We also take on select commercial projects, including office build-outs and retail space improvements, with the same attention to detail and commitment to quality. Whether it’s a home or a business, we tailor each project to meet our clients' needs and local building codes.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We recently completed a garage conversion in El Cerrito, CA, that we’re particularly proud of. The project involved transforming an existing garage into a fully permitted 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom ADU. The client came to us without plans or a clear design, so we handled the entire process—from design and architectural planning to permitting and construction. The build took about four months and was completed at a final cost of approximately $250K. The result is a beautiful, functional living space that added real value to the property. It’s a great example of how we guide clients through the full journey, especially when starting from scratch.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look for a contractor who communicates clearly, provides a full scope of services, and has a solid portfolio of similar projects. Permits and planning can be tricky—make sure your provider knows how to work with your city and guide you through the process.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Start with your goals: What do you want to change or improve? What’s your ideal budget and timeline? Do you need help with design, permits, or both? Knowing these answers helps us guide you better and suggest the right approach for your project.
