Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
When it comes to our pricing, we believe in transparency and fairness. Our rates are based on the scope and complexity of the project, and we provide detailed estimates upfront, so there are no surprises along the way. We always aim to give our clients the best value without sacrificing quality. While we don’t typically offer discounts, we focus on providing high-quality craftsmanship that ensures long-term durability and satisfaction, making the investment worthwhile. In terms of fees, we’ll always outline any additional costs before the project begins—whether it’s for permits, materials, or unforeseen issues that might arise during construction. If there are changes to the original plan or unexpected challenges, we’ll communicate those with you right away and adjust the pricing accordingly. Our goal is to be clear about the costs from start to finish, so you can make informed decisions and feel confident throughout the process.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The process of working with new clients begins with an Initial Consultation, where we offer a free onsite estimate to assess the project’s scope and discuss ideas. Following this, we move into the Planning & Design phase, collaborating closely to develop a custom plan that meets the client's vision and needs. Once the design is finalized, we guide the client through the Permit Process, ensuring all necessary approvals are secured. Finally, the project moves into Project Execution, where we manage construction and implementation, keeping the client informed at every step to ensure a smooth and successful completion.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Our team is fully licensed as general contractors, with all the necessary certifications and training to handle a wide range of construction projects. We have completed comprehensive education and hands-on training in areas such as project management, building codes, safety regulations, and specific construction techniques. This expertise, combined with our contractor's license, ensures that we deliver high-quality results while adhering to industry standards and local regulations. Our ongoing commitment to professional development allows us to stay up-to-date with the latest practices and innovations in the field.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Our story begins with years of hands-on experience in the construction industry, where we honed our craft working on everything from small residential repairs to large commercial builds. Over the years, we grew increasingly frustrated with the “just get it done” mentality that dominated much of the industry. We believed that construction wasn’t just about putting up walls and laying foundations—it was an art form, where every detail mattered and craftsmanship should shine through. After working under various contractors and gaining invaluable knowledge, we decided to take the leap and start our own company. We wanted to create a business that didn’t just complete projects, but elevated them—where design, precision, and quality were at the forefront of every build. Our goal was to bring a sense of artistry to the construction process, blending the technical with the creative to deliver spaces that were not only functional but beautiful. Today, that passion still drives us, as we approach each project with the mindset that we’re not just building structures—we’re creating lasting works of art.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of clients, from commercial businesses to property managers, but our true expertise lies in working with homeowners on their residential projects. Over the years, we’ve partnered with individuals and families to transform their homes—whether it’s a complete renovation, a custom build, or smaller, specialized improvements. We understand that a home is deeply personal, and we take great pride in helping our clients bring their visions to life with careful attention to detail, quality craftsmanship, and a collaborative approach that ensures every project reflects their unique style and needs.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One of our most memorable recent projects was a custom balcony we built in Altadena. This project was truly a standout for us—it was large in scale, and the design was absolutely stunning. From the intricate architectural details to the way the space seamlessly blended with the surrounding landscape, every aspect felt unique and special. The entire process took a few months to complete, as we carefully crafted each element to ensure it was both functional and aesthetically breathtaking. Watching the project come to life and seeing the client's reaction to the final result was incredibly rewarding. We're proud of how it turned out and it’s definitely one of our favorite projects to date.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
When hiring a contractor, my biggest piece of advice would be to do your research and choose someone you can trust, not just based on price but on their expertise, reliability, and reputation. Look for a provider with a solid track record of completed projects and happy clients—don’t hesitate to ask for references or to see examples of their past work. It's also important to ensure they’re fully licensed and insured to protect both you and the contractor throughout the project. Communication is key, so choose someone who listens to your needs, offers clear timelines, and provides transparent pricing. A good contractor should make you feel confident in their ability to deliver high-quality work and be there for you every step of the way. And finally, trust your instincts—if something feels off in the initial meetings, it’s okay to explore other options. Your project is too important to settle for anything less than the best.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Before talking to professionals about their project, customers should take some time to consider the following key questions: What is my budget? Have a clear understanding of what you’re willing to spend, keeping in mind that construction projects often come with unexpected costs. Being upfront about your budget helps professionals recommend realistic solutions. What is the scope of the project? Are you looking for a full renovation, a smaller improvement, or a new build? Defining the scope helps contractors assess the time, materials, and labor needed to execute your vision. What’s my timeline? Do you have specific deadlines or events in mind (e.g., moving in, hosting an event)? Understanding your ideal timeline helps contractors plan the work and set realistic expectations. What is my vision or style? Think about the overall aesthetic or function you want to achieve. Consider gathering inspiration—photos, sketches, or ideas to clearly communicate your style preferences and needs. What challenges could arise? Are there any potential obstacles—such as structural issues, zoning laws, or space limitations—that might affect the project? It’s helpful to think through possible challenges so you’re prepared for any necessary adjustments. Do I need permits or approvals? Will your project require building permits or other regulatory approvals? A contractor can help navigate this, but understanding this early on can prevent delays. How involved do I want to be in the process? Do you want to be hands-on and involved in every decision, or are you looking for a more hands-off approach, where the professional handles most details? Knowing your level of involvement will help set expectations for both parties. Taking time to answer these questions before speaking with a professional will help ensure the process runs smoothly and that your vision aligns with what the contractor can deliver.
