Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Our pricing is based on current material and labor pricing which we update monthly. We offer discounts on occasion generally based on current promotions. We do have a fee for projects requiring design and or extensive assessment of exiting condition (i.e. kitchens, baths, basement, additions). Fees are relative to the required time required of professional design and consultations.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Our process includes : - first contact (usually a phone call to discuss the project to ensure that your project, our services and expertise are a good fit). - site visit which may involve a consultation fee on a case-by-case basis. You will be informed of any pending fees (if any) prior to our visit. - Estimate will be provided based on known information at the timer of the estimate - Deposit based on the project material values.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
35 years of experience as a full-service general contractor with services ranging from full "ground up" design-build projects to remodeling.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Studied architecture before starting an interior finish carpentry business.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Our customers have ranged from large franchise restaurant and hotel groups, custom homes and remodeling. Our projects have ranged from 1,500.00 to 7 million dollars.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We have hundreds of projects that we continue to be proud of but they all share the satisfaction of our ability to understand and meet the customer's needs.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
A customers' primary concern should be "trust" - Does the contractor listen to your needs and answer your concerns, or do they push what they want to sell? - can you verify the contractor's license(s) and insurance. - the lowest price is not the best way to choose a contractor any more than choosing the lowest priced doctor. There is always someone willing to do it "cheaper" but at what cost to you in terms of dissatisfaction and frustration?

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
It is always helpful to you and the contractor if you have a well thought out vision of your desired outcome. Having at least a general idea of the projects' basic elements can save hours of back and forth with the contractor in creating a design and estimate that truly meets you needs. Don't worry too much about the details, a good contractor will guide you through the selection and design process.
