Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
The price is based upon the detail and complexity of the job. There is no “fixed price” until all the details of the project are known, at which time the client will receive a detailed Scope of Work and pricing breakdown.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Initial interview and site visit, preliminary plan drawing (if applicable) and pricing, secondary interview and pricing, other meetings as required including consultation with vendors and trade contractors. Once the base plans and scope of work is established we move to the final consultation, financing review (if applicable) and final pricing. This process may take from one week to three months depending upon how involved the project may be.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Over 35 years of experience with multiple types of construction throughout the Soitheast. This includes Ga., Fl., Al., Tn., SC., and Mississippi. I currently hold a Ga. residential and light commercial contractors license and have attended many training classes and seminars related to construction.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started in the early 80’s with home repairs and renovations, then moving into new construction both residential and commercial.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All types!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently completed an historic renovation of a home. This included removing all of the wall boards and trim. We completely restored the trim, including sanding and planing it back down to its original beauty. Final project was exquisite. It took about eight months to complete.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Check longevity, check references and focus on how much the contractor pays attention detail.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
First and foremost: budget! Clients should also consider time, materials and the practical application of their project ideas.
