Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
All pricing depends on what the customer wants to build and the materials they want to use. We provide the costumer with an estimate as to how much the job will cost once we have all the details of the job. The customer pays for the materials and the labor to complete the job. We will NEVER mark up the price of materials. We will ALWAYS try our hardest to get the best priced materials for all of our customers.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I always like to spend some time just getting to know the customer and trying to understand their needs and their specific vision of what it is they want to build. Once I have as much info as I can gather about what type of work is to be performed, and what type(s) of materials will be needed, I will sit down and make up an estimate as to how much the while project will cost as well as the amount of time it will take to complete the project. I will usually have that estimate ready within several days of meeting the customer and seeing the space they want to work with.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
All my 22 years of training has been in the field and on the job. I consider myself lucky to have learned from and worked with some master carpenters that were also perfectionists.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I loved woodworking in highschool and have always enjoyed building things. I began working for a friend's dad doing framing after I graduated from highschool and kept with it for the next 10 years. I loved framing and still do, but I knew I wanted to learn much more about building so that one day I could build my own home. After 10 years of hard labor that is framing, I began working with a friend and finish carpenter that taught me all about the more intricate and detailed world of finish carpentry. Along the way I've taken it upon myself to learn everything I possibly can about building and remodel because it is my passion and I love what I do!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked with all different types of people and I love meeting new customers!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
just recently, I completely gutted and remodeled a home for family in Polson, MT and I am very fond of it. I replaced everything inside the house. We installed new mini splits for heating and cooling, new kitchen appliances, cabinets, sink, countertops, range, backsplash, new bathroom tub with tile surround, toilet, sink, vanity, mirror and matching tile floor. Installed all new flooring, doors/ trim, all new base trim and new paint. This project took approximately 2 months to complete.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Do some research. Ask for past reviews and maybe some photos of their previous work.
