Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Pricing is dependent on the scope for your particular process. Range prices should be given based off of contractor experience, however accurate pricing takes time to estimate ass material finishes and scope are different from project to project. Your contractor should be very thorough with pricing to avoid all change orders and unnecessary costs.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Our Process begins with a qualifying phone call to determine whether we are the right fit for you. Next we will schedule an onsite visit to meet in person and see the project site. Once the Initial site visit is complete we will provide a range estimate and require a 10% REFUNDALE deposit. Once the the deposit is received all trade partners will be walked through the site and all materials will be selected. After materials and trade walkthroughs are complete, a finalized price will be given. Once accepted the project will be scheduled an completed.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

The JVC Construction team has over 30 years of combined experience in residential remodeling. We have partners that hold Masters licenses in Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC. We are registered as a General Contractor with the city of Austin and have backgrounds not only in trades but a financial background in Construction Lending, Project Management and Construction Budgeting.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started my career in real estate lending and soon after ventured into real estate development. It was during this time that I realized my true passion was in the construction aspect of real estate. I decided to leave the world of finance behind and start my own construction company. After successfully exiting my first company, I was eager to take on larger projects with an emphasis on detail and design. That's when JVC Construction and Remodeling was born.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We have worked will customers ranging from first time home buyers to Animal hospitals and everything in between. Our team has the exceptional ability to tailor to every individuals needs. If our team cant help, we always know someone who can!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure you enjoy the company of the contractor you are hiring. Take time to get to know the person and not just the company. Pricing and Pretty pictures are second to the character of the contractor. Projects should be more of a relationship than a transaction. That will ensure you are comfortable throughout the process and also give you confidence that you are working with the right person.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

A few things to think about before talking to professionals, is design and materials. You also will need to think about your budget. Sharing budget with contractors should not be scary. If it is then that contractor is not the right one for you. Knowing budget can help the contractors provide suggestions to accomplish your goals with the space.
