Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
At Boulder Peak Restoration, we want you to know that our pricing process is set up to protect your interests. First, we conduct a thorough on-site inspection, documenting all damages and taking detailed measurements. We then use an industry-standard software called Xactimate, which provides consistently updated local labor and material costs and a standardized estimating format that is recognized by insurance companies. This ensures accuracy, transparency, and fairness when generating your restoration estimate. Ultimately, the agreed-upon price is determined through discussions with your insurance provider, but our primary focus is to use our expertise and the standardized data from Xactimate to secure the compensation you rightly deserve—rather than accepting an insufficient settlement. Our goal is to protect your investment and ensure a fair and smooth restoration process.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We begin with site arrival and a thorough review of the damage. Next, we conduct a cost evaluation and create an estimate that will be part of the insurance claim. We then handle claim negotiations and work toward a resolution with your insurance company. Once everything is in place, we promptly start the restoration work to get your property back to its original condition as quickly as possible. This streamlined process ensures clear communication and efficient service from start to finish.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Boulder Peak Restoration is proud to be a licensed and bonded company, holding prestigious certifications from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC). Our team includes certified Water Damage Restoration Technicians (WRT) and Fire & Smoke Damage Restoration Technicians (FSRT), ensuring top-quality service and expertise in handling water and fire damage restoration projects.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started this type of work a few years ago when I began my career in the construction industry. Over time, I identified the restoration niche and decided to focus on it. I was drawn to this field because I enjoy helping people in need, and I love the variety of jobs that come with it, which keeps the work interesting. More importantly, I saw an opportunity to positively impact the community by restoring homes and businesses affected by water and fire damage, which has been incredibly fulfilling.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Residential and Commercial - mainly focusing on post-mitigation stages and managing the insurance claim process.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One of our favorite recent projects involved restoring a home that had suffered significant water damage from a burst pipe. Our team started by thoroughly documenting the affected areas, removing water, and carefully drying out the space to prevent mold. Next, we replaced damaged drywall, flooring, and insulation to bring the home back to its original condition. Throughout the process, we used our expertise in working with insurance companies—creating a comprehensive Xactimate estimate and communicating directly with the adjuster on the homeowner’s behalf. From our initial inspection to the final cleanup, the project took approximately three weeks, and the family was thrilled to see their home fully restored

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
When searching for a provider in this field, look for someone who has solid experience working with insurance companies, as this ensures they know how to navigate the claims process on your behalf. They should be able to write comprehensive estimates (preferably using industry-recognized software such as Xactimate) to accurately reflect the cost of necessary repairs. Above all, choose a provider who is committed to protecting your interests by thoroughly documenting damages, presenting strong evidence to the insurance company, and advocating for a fair settlement that covers all essential work.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Before reaching out to professionals, it’s important for customers to have a clear understanding of their project needs and priorities. Questions to consider include: 1. Scope of Work – What exactly needs to be done, and which areas are affected? 2. Budget & Insurance – Will insurance be covering the work, and have you clarified with your insurer what they need from you? 3. Timeline – When do you need the project completed, and how flexible are you on scheduling? 4. Experience & Expertise – Have you confirmed whether the professional has experience working with insurance companies, writing proper estimates (e.g., using software like Xactimate), and advocating for fair coverage? 5. References & Credentials – Are they licensed, insured, and able to provide references or examples of past projects similar to yours?
