What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
At Turning On Restoration & Remodeling, we believe in complete transparency when it comes to pricing. Whether you're working through your homeowner’s insurance or paying out of pocket, we provide clear, detailed estimates with no hidden fees.
For insurance jobs, we offer comprehensive pricing with hundreds of itemized line entries, ensuring every aspect of the work is clearly documented. For out-of-pocket projects, we keep things simple yet transparent, outlining all material and labor costs up front.
We offer flexible payment schedules, available discounts, and clearly defined customization options with associated costs. Our straightforward contracts are easy to understand, and we’re always available to answer any questions.
Your satisfaction and peace of mind are our top priorities.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our process starts with a free on-site consultation to understand your vision, assess the space, and discuss your needs. We'll explore design ideas, evaluate the scope of work, and provide you with a detailed and transparent quote.
If the project involves a property loss, we can help determine whether it could be covered by your homeowner’s insurance. If so, we handle all communication with the insurance company on your behalf—negotiating the scope and costs directly while representing your best interests throughout the process.
Once we reach an agreement—either with the insurance company or directly with you—we finalize plans, secure any necessary permits, and set a project timeline. We also offer the option to proceed with a standard, straightforward bid for out-of-pocket projects, following the best practices in the remodeling and restoration industry.
From start to finish, we prioritize open communication, timely updates, and your complete satisfaction.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Adones graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 2015 and has been active in the residential construction industry ever since, working closely with general contractors on a wide range of projects. He is IICRC-certified as a Water Remediation Technician and regularly attends training in Water Damage Restoration to stay current with the latest techniques and industry standards.
With over 15 years of experience in the construction field and nearly 20 years as a business owner, Adones brings extensive technical knowledge and hands-on leadership to every job. His commitment to quality craftsmanship, professionalism, and customer satisfaction is evident in every project he leads.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
It all started when I began studying Electrical Engineering. I worked for several years as an electrician, then specialized in HVAC, followed by a role in a remodeling company. Eventually, I joined a restoration company, where I gained even more hands-on experience.
After years of working across different areas of the construction industry, I decided to start my own business. Today, I use all that knowledge to help my clients with their residential remodeling and restoration projects—always with a focus on quality, transparency, and customer satisfaction.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
This home experienced significant water damage originating in the master bathroom. We completed a full renovation in Camano Island, with major work focused on the upper level. The master bathroom was completely remodeled, including the installation of a new whirlpool tub, updated flooring, vanity, countertop, drywall, texture, and fresh paint.
The lower level also underwent a full renovation. We replaced all drywall, installed new hardwood flooring, updated the baseboards and trim, remodeled the kitchen with new cabinets and countertops, addressed necessary plumbing repairs, and repainted the entire area.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Before hiring any contractor, it’s crucial to verify their credentials to protect yourself and your property. Here are essential steps to follow:
Check Licensing with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I)
Always confirm that the contractor is a licensed contractor in Washington State. Only a General Contractor can perform multiple trades—except plumbing and electrical work, which require separate licenses unless the contractor is specifically licensed in those trades.
Verify Their License Matches the Person Working on Your Property
Some dishonest people use a friend’s license to get jobs. When you check online with L&I, make sure the license matches the actual contractor who will show up. If it doesn’t, do not hire that person, no matter what story they tell.
Check for Complaints or Red Flags
Review any complaints filed against the contractor. This is an important warning sign.
Confirm Years of Experience and Type of Work Licensed To Perform
Make sure the contractor has experience and is licensed for the specific work you need.
Confirm Insurance and Bond
Ensure the contractor has sufficient liability insurance and a state-required bond. For example, my liability insurance exceeds $1,000,000, and my bond meets state requirements.
Hiring the right contractor is about more than just credentials—it’s about feeling confident and comfortable with the person or company you choose. Always do your homework and double-check all information before making a decision. Avoid contractors who ask for large deposits upfront and don’t return—they’re rarely worth the risk or headache.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Before hiring anyone, who claims to be a contractor, it’s essential to ask the right questions to protect yourself and your property. Here are the key questions you should always ask:
Are you a State Licensed Contractor?
Verify that they hold a valid contractor’s license for your state.
Who is your Liability Insurance provider?
Confirm they have liability insurance to cover any damages that might occur during the project.
Is your State Required Bond current and in effect?
This bond protects you in case the contractor doesn’t fulfill their contractual obligations.
Do you have employees who will be working on my project?
If yes, then you must also ask:
Do you carry Washington State Required L & I Insurance?
This insurance, provided through the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries, covers medical costs and lost wages if an employee gets injured on your property.
Without L & I Insurance, if a worker is injured on your property, you could be held liable for all medical bills, lost wages, and other damages. This can lead to significant financial and legal troubles, even if the contractor has other licenses or insurance.
