Introduction

We specialize in affordable home renovations, both large and small, that maximizes the homeowners return on investment. As a Real Estate Broker , since 1991, I have experience helping clients wisely spend their home renovation dollars. We have been renovating homes for homeowners and real estate investors since 1991 and what we enjoy the most is watching a property transform throughout the construction process. Much of our experience has been with helping clients who are getting ready to sell their homes and nothing makes us happier than when that client gets a larger check at closing because we increased the value of their home!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our company consists of my son and I so we are able to keep are prices low and very competitive. We do hire subs for plumbing and electrical work but we do everything else. We discuss material and construction options that will save our customer money and we shop our suppliers to find the best price for those materials and we pass the savings on to the customer.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We like to meet with the customer so we know exactly what they would like done at their property before we come up with a quote. We take the time to go over the customers plans and then we discuss material choices and timelines and then finally price.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I started working in construction in 1986 as an apprentice doing residential remodel work. I learned from one of the best trim carpenters in the St. Paul/Mpls area and I continued learning from him until 1991 when he retired. I started investing in rental real estate in 1991 after I got my brokers license and with every property we rehabbed came more experience.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started working with a master carpenter when I was 17 and still in high school. I worked with him every summer until I received my real estate license in 1991 and starting my own company rehabbing investment properties. The skills that I learned from working with my mentor were invaluable even though I didn't enjoy it at the time.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Most of our customers are real estate investors that need a property renovated before we put it on the market for them. We also do a lot of work for sellers that want/need to have some updates done to their property so that they will maximize their selling price. In between our larger projects we get calls to do everything from installing new fences to roof repairs.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Our first job in Spokane was for a lender client that I work with and she wanted the main floor of her property completely renovated. The job took longer than we anticipated but we got to work with some great materials and it was a learning opportunity for my son and I because it was our first project in this area so we had to find suppliers and sub contractors and we met some great people that we continue to work with.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Customers should consider how their project will impact the future sale of their property and balance that with their present needs and wants so they won't over spend.
