Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
At this time, we're offering a 15 minute discovery call with no obligation. Every project is custom-quoted with a flat rate and no hourly fees. You’ll know what cost to expect from the start.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The first step is a 15 minute discovery call to go over the scope of your project and address your questions. If it seems like a good fit for both parties, we set up the initial consultation, which is a 90-minute working design consultation. During our meeting, we will explore your vision, discuss design ideas, provide recommendations to establish a budget, and what your next steps are to move forward with your design.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
BA Interior Design from Seattle Pacific University 25 years experience in the field

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
It’s been 25 years since I earned my Interior Design degree from Seattle Pacific University and launched into the field. Over the course of my career, I have worked side by side with builders and homeowners in custom furniture, window coverings, new construction, remodeling and organization. A few years after college, my husband and I started remodeling our own personal homes, which gave me the first hand experience so I can walk alongside clients with a greater understanding.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I love working with all people. Most of my clients are very busy and don't have as much time as they would like to design and organize their own spaces. Many of them want to hear from a professional designer because they want to make sure the furniture and/or finishes they select are going to work well together and look great for years to come.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently completed a powder bath and guest bath remodel for a busy family with 3 kids. We did a complete transformation and it was very rewarding to take them from worn and outdated to fully functional and beautiful. It took approximately one month from start to finish.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I'd recommend that they start by researching the providers' websites and narrow it down to a few that they are interested in. From there I'd suggest a phone call or zoom to get a feel for the designer's personality. If it's a mutual fit, a design consultation would be a great start!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Customers should definitely consider several factors while considering who to hire. The top three questions they should ask about are what types of projects they've completed in the past (ask to see photos of them), their process, and their pricing system.
