Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Design and home decor should be available to anyone who wants a beautiful home space. My fees directly reflect that!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Our first step is a complementary consultative phone call, where you can get to know me, ask any questions, share the scope and budget of your plans and any thoughts and ideas you have in mind.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Communication from Southern Oregon University, which makes me an active listener and an open communicator. I have worked alongside the best interior designer in Las Vegas for many years. This is where I learned all the tips, tricks, skills and training that I bring to my current clients.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
After many years in Advertising Sales, I wanted - NEEDED - a change. I was able to work as an intern, turned receptionist, turned assistant, turned partner for a wonderful Interior Design. This is where my passion began! I am so fortunate to be able to share that with all kinds of clients with all kinds of visions.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with clients who needed shades and rugs in their laundry room. A client who needed a Powder Bath design and cost for their insurance company after water damage. Clients who wanted assistance purchasing new furniture, selecting paint, and choosing art for their homes. Clients who wanted to turn over the entire creative process to me. No job to large or small!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I worked on a project recently for a couple who purchased a new home and needed a few additions to the furniture and art they owned and loved. We shopped and selected rugs for several areas, a new swivel chair for the family room, and incorporated some new art with their existing pieces. I am especially fond of this project because of the complete collaboration and team effort between the client and me. The design was completed in about 60 days.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Don't be afraid to speak up and what you like and what you need in a design. After online research, design magazine articles, blogs, advice from friends and family - it can be tempting to want an a whites & lights design, even with small children in the home. While many updated design themes can be incorporated, your lifestyle and your personal style are often most important.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Ask the questions that feel most important to you. Also, you can try some of these: - What design styles do you specialize in? - How do you approach a design project? - Can you work within my budget? - Can I incorporate my current furniture into the design? - How often will we communicate?
