What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We have a simple set fee structure for many items. In Hillsborough or Pinellas County, we offer the following prices: Minimum price: $45 Mattress and Box Spring (Queen size or smaller): $45 Mattress and Box Spring (King size or larger): $55 One large item such as a dresser, refrigerator, etc: $55 Half of a pickup truck load: $65 Full pickup truck load: $95 Prices may or may not be slightly higher in Pasco and Polk Counties due to travel expenses.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

90% of the time, I give a reliable quote over the phone on the first call. Sometimes I may ask for a picture before quoting. But the customer can always rely on the quote that I give.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have worked in the real estate and construction industries for 15 years.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have had rental properties for many years, and I got into this business after being charged very high prices by the national franchises to do rental property clean-outs and construction site cleanup.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Most of my customers can be described as follows: Bought a large item like a new mattress, appliance, or furniture online, and now need the old item removed. Performed annual yard cleanup and now have piles of branches and bags of debris to be removed. People moving out/moving in, and are finally getting rid of things that have been accumulating for many years. Family pets/kids have ruined furniture. New landscaping or home repairs has resulted in piles of pavers, stone, bricks, construction debris, paint, etc.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I recently did a cleanup for a couple in St. Pete that is downsizing to a smaller home after 30 years. They moved what they could into the driveway, but then I walked around the property with the owners as they pointed out piles of pavers, bricks, paint cans, swimming pool supplies, furniture in the basement, etc. After they sold their house, they called me back to remove more items they didn't want, such as the propane grill.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Unless your situation is very unusual, I would be wary of anyone who can't give you at least an estimate over the phone. Don't let someone come out and pressure you into paying a high price.
