What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All of my pricing is flat-rate, clear, and based on the job — not by the hour. I price every service to be affordable, fair, and fully compliant with California’s $1,000 legal limit for handyman work (under BPC §7048).
There are no hidden fees, surprise add-ons, or upsells. The quote I give you up front includes labor, standard materials, and cleanup. I also supply all parts unless discussed otherwise.
I don’t charge extra for evenings or weekends, and I often offer bundled pricing when more than one small job is done at the same time. My goal is to give you solid, honest work at a price that makes sense — with no guesswork.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process is all about making things easy, clear, and professional from the first message. When a new customer contacts me, I start by asking a few quick questions about the issue — and I always welcome photos to help me assess the job accurately. From there, I provide a clear, flat-rate quote based on my experience and my pricing book, so there are no surprises.
Once approved, I schedule the job at the customer’s convenience — often with same-day or next-day availability. I arrive on time, walk through the work to make sure expectations are clear, and then get it done cleanly, safely, and efficiently. After the job, I always test the repair thoroughly and clean up the workspace before leaving.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over a decade of hands-on plumbing experience, including lead roles at some of the largest and most respected plumbing companies in Southern California. Throughout my career, I’ve specialized in residential service work, system troubleshooting, and efficient repairs — and I’ve consistently served as the lead plumber on my teams.
In addition to field work, I’ve also assisted in training and mentoring new plumbers, helping them build their skills and understanding of real-world plumbing systems. My experience is rooted in the job — where the best education comes from doing the work every day, solving problems, and helping people.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I originally got into plumbing somewhat by chance, but quickly discovered that it was the perfect fit for me. I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands, building things, and solving problems. Over time, I developed a real passion for the trade—not just for the technical side of it, but also for the opportunity it gives me to help people in meaningful, practical ways. There’s something incredibly rewarding about restoring comfort and functionality to someone’s home or business. Today, I’m proud to use my skills to serve my community and share my passion for quality workmanship with the people in my city.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I’ve worked with a wide range of customers — from busy homeowners who need fast, affordable repairs to property managers looking for reliable service on a tight schedule. I regularly help first-time buyers getting their place set up, families dealing with urgent plumbing issues, and seniors who appreciate clear communication and respectful service.
Whether it’s a quick fix or a detailed install, I focus on making the process smooth, honest, and professional for every type of customer I serve. If it’s plumbing and it’s under $1,000, I’m your go-to.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
One recent project I’m especially proud of was a complete rebuild of a leaking toilet tank for a homeowner who had been dealing with water waste and frustration for weeks. The tank wasn’t holding water at all and had worn internal parts, plus a deteriorated tank-to-bowl gasket.
I fully disassembled and rebuilt the tank with all new components — including the fill valve, flush valve, flapper, handle, bolts, and gasket — and reassembled everything with a proper seal. I also adjusted the water level for better performance and did a full leak test to confirm everything was sealed tight.
The entire job took just under 2 hours, and the customer was relieved to have it working like new without the cost or hassle of replacing the whole toilet. It’s the kind of clean, efficient, under-$1,000 handyman plumbing work I enjoy doing — solving problems and giving people peace of mind.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for someone who’s trustworthy, communicates clearly, and takes pride in their work. A good provider should be willing to explain the work they’re doing so you fully understand what to expect. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and respect for your home or business are just as important as the final results. Choose someone who’s reliable, honest, and genuinely cares about doing the job right the first time.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Before reaching out to a plumbing professional, customers should take a moment to think through a few key details to help get the most accurate quote and the fastest service:
1. What exactly is the issue? Try to describe what’s happening — for example, “toilet constantly running,” “faucet leaking under the sink,” or “bathtub won’t drain.”
2. Where is it located? Is it inside the home, outside, in a tight space, or on a second floor? This helps prepare for access and the right tools.
3. How long has it been going on? Has it just started, or has it been a recurring issue?
4. Do you have photos? A quick photo of the problem can save time and help the pro quote more accurately before even showing up.
5. What’s your goal? Do you want it repaired, upgraded, or replaced? Clear expectations help ensure you get the right result.
Having answers to these questions helps make the process faster, smoother, and more efficient — for both you and your pro.
