Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We are a fairly priced company, we believe a company that is bidding low to earn your business can only provide sloppy and unreliable service. Instead we price fairly so you the customers are getting exactly what you are wishing for, without overpaying. This ensures we are not coming back to you asking for more money or worse, you are calling us back unhappy because we didn't do our job and price for the details that mattered to you.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
At Monarch we like to meet in person with our future customers. A face to the name helps build the trust we both need. -We set up a time and day to talk over your project, we take notes and get clear details. Making sure to get all the information needed to provide you a detailed estimate. -With the notes in hand and first impressions made, we go to the drawing board and build your estimate, this process typically takes 1-2 days. -Your estimate is sent to you, from there we will follow up and get your project scheduled. -Communication is key during projects so you can expect updates and good communication during the timeline of your project. -After the project is complete we will walk the property with you to make sure we met your standards and hope to see you on your next landscape project!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
As the owner I have been in the industry since I was 13, I grew up in the landscape industry and have never left, it's what I love. Over the years I have shadowed companies as well as owned companies all over America. For me this was not only business opportunity but opportunities to learn about all the different regions and how they differ when it comes to landscaping. Every year I attend educational classes to get the most up to date information and technology to help our current and future customers. I have attended Irrigation schools, turf care classes, development classes and mostly anything to do with the green industry, I make sure to be involved.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
From a young age my Father owned landscape companies all over America. My passion for landscaping grew and I have taken strides to learn and grow further in our amazing industry.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with customers in all ranges, in all sizes of businesses. From celebrity homes to "just get it done" homes. Business Parks to multi-family investment properties. We treat everyone the same, and want to earn the trust and business from each person alike.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Recently we built a nice retaining wall, our customer had a very sloped, unusable back yard. We had the opportunity to give them the yard they were missing. By building a retaining wall and building up their back yard to be a level space. We took great pride in watching the excitement on their faces as they now realized their kids have an outdoor play space.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
We don't compete with other contractors in our area, there's enough "room on the couch" for all of us. However, I only caution my customers to not be sold by empty words. Unfortunately we often see contractors do a hurry up sale, rather than truly giving a solution to a customer's needs, they're quick to give a basic answer and estimate without educating their customer on the Why. I love to educate my customers, and if I don't know, I know another professional that can give us an answer, but we won't ever fool you.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Is the contractor professional in the way they carry themselves. Is the contractor listing the wants, issues, needs, etc. Is the contractor giving us the WHY on our needs or ideas? Is the contractor educated in the aspects of your project? Does the contractor seem genuine and easy to communicate with?
