Introduction

Hi, I'm Karen and I am a Creative Director turned Freelance Branding Specialist and Graphic Designer. I feel rewarded doing what I do best, designing identities for everyone! Effective logos are so important for a successful business. I get a real thrill out of introducing new companies to the public. Having worked with the biggest and the smallest clients, I know that there is no difference in the passion that they exude. I love my work and take great care to watch out for the tiniest details. And I can communicate! But to be clear... I will take on any project on any platform, big or small with joy and fun for us both in the process. I will meet all deadlines (in fact am usually early) while providing the highest quality of designs for your needs. I am 24/7 customer support ready to answer any questions during the design process. I can design logos in my sleep! And I never ever use templates to speed the process. Time is so irrelevant when you are working on the computer, that sometimes I look up and I have been working three hours on a job I estimated for 1 hour.. But it's ok. That is my gift to you.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My minimum for logos is $300. and if you want to keep researching looks past what the initial process, then it will be more. Usually it works out within the first blush. I dream that all of us will some day get what we deserve for our art.. this has really reduced the cost of Design. I hope you know that the Graphic Designers deserve much more.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We meet, chat on the phone or talk via text to get as much information and ideas as possible. I love to get visual samples that the client likes, or maybe inspires them... and them come up with a minimum of 5-10 initial looks.I will email the rough ideas to you. Then we go from there to fine tune and pick the best solution. Final art is completed upon payment.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I had the BEST training that my parents could buy in Northern California. SJSU was a highly credited Design school.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have been in love with anything artistic...from birth! There was never any other thought that I would do anything else. I am so right brained it is ridiculous. My personality thrives on everything I see. I feel things deeply and care very much about making the world a beautiful place. It is also so important that I teach people how to find beauty in design of all aspects of life.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
From small mom and pop shops and friends to Big accounts like Disney and McDonalds' and anyone that needs me. Most people I have worked with are amazing and have great personalities. The bad seeds are workable and I just learn to zip it. That is what years of experience brings!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Every project is a labor of love! But the best ones are the ones that people have collaborated with me on and we have done these projects with passion.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Think about how hard it would be for you to do it yourself. We have come so far and yet we have lost our professionalism because everyone can use the creative programs now. But it takes a special set of honed eyes that can see the nuances and perfect blend of color and style. AND please try to understand that COMPUTERS don't KERN type! look it up! lol

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What is their major goal? What do they love about their work? What do they see this Art doing for them? What is their pet peeve? Who and where is their audience? Are they open to something different than they were thinking about? And I usually like to dig a bit into their personalities to get the feel of them in to the logo or design.
