Introduction

Hi. I’m Joe, a regular guy who used to have a regular job. I love the little things in life and never take myself too seriously. Laughing with friends and enjoying my family are two of my favorite things. Today, I consider myself the luckiest person on earth. But that wasn’t always true….. After graduating art school, I was afraid of the unknown I faced. I was afraid of failing. I didn’t know what the path forward looked like. And with the economy in crisis, I wasn’t sure how, when, or where I was going to find another job, especially one that I liked. I did what so many do. I took what I could and spent years in jobs that weren’t fulfilling for a paycheck. Thankfully, I learned the entire time. I learned about leadership, time-management, exceeding deadlines, and that details are just as important as the overall vision. I demonstrated all of these crucial business skills, but without the satisfaction and fulfillment. What was wrong with me? Was I crazy? It was all a bit maddening. Then a crazy idea popped into my head: I could work for myself. I kept creating. I kept imagining. I kept my inner child. I have held on to those dreams that keep the fires of creation burning. I also learned that the most successful people in the world are the ones that have failed the most. Like Edison said, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” Although the entrepreneurial path has been risky, it is invigorating and feels right. The rest, as they say, is history…. Imagination is always encouraged here, and no idea is too extreme for me. Years of experience have taught me about exceeding expectations and meeting deadlines. Opportunities are everywhere, we just have to be willing to see them! I don't just enjoy what I do, I LOVE what I do! The creative process is about collaboration, and this is what I was born to do!

Initially I communicate with the customer directly, and conduct a "discovery meeting." During this meeting, we discuss our your needs, expectations, and deadlines. Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Where do I start? Honestly I'm fond of all of my projects. I love bringing the author's words and vision to reality, and I love helping a business find their identity.....So lucky! Some of these projects take time, some don't. The key factors are the detail of work needed, the number of proofs per project, and how focused the vision is. I'm happy to work with clients that need results yesterday, as well as clients that don't have a deadline in mind.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look for someone who can meet your creative goals with passion! My favorite clients are the ones that are truly passionate about their project! There are no projects too small, and every relationship is an opportunity for greater success!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
1. What is my budget? Am I looking for the cheapest price, the best quality, or a balance of both? In my experience, quality is always worth the price. 2. Am I ready to start this now or am I fishing for the lowest price? Remember that Thumbtack pros pay for every quote we send, regardless of if we get the job or not. 3. What is my timeframe? Do I have a firm deadline to meet? 4. Do I have any pictures, drawings, or other reference to provide? 5. How am I going to use this? Do I need digital and print-ready designs?
