Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I'm happy to provide a complimentary interview over the phone to discuss your project goals and answer questions about working with me.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to start with a phone conversation, FaceTime, or Zoom call to discuss your project and what kind of architectural and construction services you're looking for. After that we will meet on-site and in person to review design and next steps.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University. For ten years I worked for established architecture firms prior to starting MIKADO.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've wanted to be an architect since I was a kid. Once I became an architect I loved being on construction sites, talking to all the tradesmen and facilitating the construction process. When friends and family asked me to work on their kitchen and bathroom renovations I jumped at the opportunity—that was the beginning of MIKADO.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Past clients include first-time home buyers, families with children, retired couples with a vacation home, professional real-estate developers, and small business owners.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
In addition to hiring a licensed architect and builder, I recommend hiring someone you will enjoy talking to and spending a lot of time with. Construction projects take a long time and we’re starting a business relationship, it’s better if you feel a connection.
