Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We price everything clearly and transparently. You will never have to question what amount you will pay or what value/quality you will receive. Everything is broken down into categories for your approval.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Introductions are imperative. It gives us all a chance to get a feel for who it is we will be working with for the duration of the project. Once that's established, and with all the formalities out of the way, it's time to talk about what it is you want and expect. We can establish a timeline and budget, to set your project off on the right path.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
We have over 30 years experience in both Residential and Commercial construction. We have built commercial projects in excess of $30,000,000 valuation. We specialize in New Luxury Home Design Builds, Spec Home Builds, Horizontal/Vertical Additions, and Retail Commercial Construction. We hire and work with, only the most skilled and respectful Tradesman and Professionals in the industry.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
The owner, Travis LaFaye started in the trades as a Maintenance technician for large, nationally recognized property management firms. He worked his way up to Maintenance Manager, and then Maintenance Director. He then decided he wanted more in depth trade skills, so he went to work for a local plumbing service outfit. He started to cross train in HVAC and then started off on his own with a small plumbing/HVAC company. He was offered an opportunity to work for a very large nationwide, Commercial General Contracting Firm running their projects in the field as Superintendent. He started on projects valued at around $150,000 all over the country, and before getting licensed himself, went on to build projects for them in excess of $30,000,000.00

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We are proud of all our projects. We take Personal Accountability, and great Pride in every project. The best part is delivering a quality project to a pleased client.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
When it comes to large construction projects, it can be difficult to get price comparisons. I would advise you to make sure you are comparing “apples to apples”. As you compare the scope being quoted, you can differentiate between the contractors who have a good understanding of your project, and those that are just “low balling” a general number to get your contract, only to raise the price as unforeseen or unaccounted for (change orders) later, as the build progresses. With that being said, and as I’m sure you’ve heard before… the lowest bid isn’t always the best! Be aware of your contractors knowledge of YOUR project before accepting a bid. 😊

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What is your “Pain” and “Pleasure”? In other words what are you most concerned about? Is timeframe imperative to your project? Is cost the most concerning part of the project? How about the end results/quality? What are your concerns and how can we address them. What is your pleasure? What are you looking forward to? What would you like to have happen to make it a pleasant experience? What is the most important thing for you to get out of the project? These are great questions to ask yourself to get a better understanding of what YOU want and expect, to get out of your Project and Design Build Team.
