What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold

We also take part in ongoing apprenticeships and hands-on training programs, ensuring our crew continues to grow in skill, safety, and industry knowledge.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
This work runs deep in my roots—I'm proud to be part of a third-generation family in the construction industry. It all began with our family-owned business, James J. Tynan & Son Supplies, a trusted local tool and building supply store. Over the years, we transitioned from supplying the tools to mastering the craft ourselves, growing into full-service general contractors. That legacy of hard work, craftsmanship, and community connection continues to guide everything we do today.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of customers from all walks of life—from first-time homeowners needing small repairs to seasoned property owners planning full-scale additions and renovations. Whether it's a quick fix or a major custom build, we treat every project with the same level of care, respect, and attention to detail.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One of our favorite recent projects was a kitchen for Juan Soto. What began as a simple three-day ceiling repair quickly evolved into a full kitchen transformation: Scope expansion: During the ceiling repair, we uncovered outdated wiring and moisture damage. Juan decided to take the opportunity to modernize the entire space. Upgrades delivered: We installed brand-new electrical, laid large-format porcelain floor tiles, added a subway-tile backsplash, upgraded lighting, and refinished the cabinetry for a cohesive, contemporary look. Timeline: Because of the electrical remediation and added finishes, the project grew from the original 3-day plan to just under 5 weeks—but the extra time ensured everything was safe, code-compliant, and built to last. Juan now has a bright, functional kitchen that not only fixes the initial issue but also adds value and style to his home—proof that sometimes the best projects start with a small repair.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Always ask if the contractor carries valid insurance—it protects both you and your property. Also, be sure to ask how soon they’re available to start and if they can commit to a clear project timeline. A reliable contractor will be transparent about their availability, provide references, and communicate openly from day one.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Will this project require permits, and can it be completed without them? Who should I contact if I have billing or contract questions? What happens if you discover issues like termites or structural damage?
