What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We are never the cheap guy in the room. Our designer/estimators make it a point to truly understand your objectives for the space. While our numbers may seem elevated at the beginning, we include the items discussed onsite. Our process is to not put you in a bind with continuous change orders, which delay the project and overruns your budge.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We have a discovery call, then one of our designer/estimators visits the space to get more details and to document the space. We will then prepare a detailed proposed scope of work and cost estimation, which we schedule for a return visit to discuss the project. We are no pressure sales, as we want to ensure the interview process will be mutually aligned.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

We're always taking online and in-person training to ensure we are staying at the forefront of the industry.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I'm Brice Dawson, the Director of Operations for Stag Homes. My dad bought the land he grew up on and started building custom homes on that land. What types of customers have you worked with?

Our favorite customers are the ones who have an idea of what they want, but can't quite see the end result. Our designers pride themselves on detailed renderings so we nail down every aspect of your upcoming project.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

A lady who had a terrible experience with a previous client and she really was hesitant to trust. From the initial call, Ms. W. said that she was comfortable with our process. We were doing such a great job while beginning the bathroom, she added three other projects while we were there!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Be careful that everyone is bidding the same scope of work. Change orders are becoming more prevalent. This tactic is to get a low price initially, get in the door, and then admit there scope omitted certain parts of the project and you will owe more money.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What is most important, price, quality or timeline; you can have two of those three. If they can live without the space for a few months. Can you trust the company you're interviewing for the project.
