Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Monthly Tuition for Weekly Lessons - 30 minutes: $150 monthly - 45 minutes: $200 monthly - 60 minutes: $250 monthly - Group 60 minutes: $100 monthly (4 minimum)

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I require a free 30 minute trial lesson to ensure a good fit between student and teacher. At this lesson we will discuss your goals, dreams, desires, abilities, experiences, and needs. At the end, we will decide if you want to continue looking for a better fit or we will schedule ongoing lessons at a convenient time for both of us. Tuition will also be discussed, including whether or not you qualify for discounts or scholarships.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I studied under Peggy McAdam from 1984 to 1991, learning piano and teaching techniques.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Under Ms McAdam's direction, I accompanied chorus, jazz choir, select chorus, junior and senior high musicals, and more. She also gave me direct instruction on teaching piano to children through students I had during that time. I also learned almost all brass and woodwind instruments. I have been consistently teaching music lessons since 1989, transitioning exclusively online in 2020.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I specialize in working with children and adults who have Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, TBI, ADHD - people with neuro-diversities. I have taught children from age 3 to adults to age 92 with a myriad of levels of experience, abilities, challenges, goals, aspirations, dreams, and desires.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
For years I held bi-annual Showcases where students selected 1-2 pieces to share with everyone, transitioning solely online in 2020.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Book a trial lesson with several different teachers before deciding who you want to work with and ask questions!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Ask questions about tuition, discounts, scholarships if needed. Ask questions about practice requirements and curriculum requirements. What stands out about each teacher/studio that would align with your goals and dreams and current life situation?
