Introduction

Hello! I am a certified teacher. For college-bound students, sessions are designed to support the skill sets needed in college (including executive functioning). Current clientele ranges from grade 2 to college Bachelor’s Degrees. Having worked in two college admissions departments, I am well-versed in the application process. For homeschoolers and out-schoolers, we support the objectives of the families we serve. Additionally, TLC is an approved service provider for Step Up FES-UA and the New World’s Reading Scholarship. As a Step Up service provider, I am fortunate enough to facilitate compelling educational experiences for non-traditional learners. I am an empathetic and highly effective tutor with over 20 years of experience. I specialize in working with ADD, ADHD, and other students with “superpowers.” With a wealth of experience and a genuine joy for teaching, I believe that empowerment leads to success. My lessons, based on positivity, are highly motivating and highly effective. I respect the fact that how much an individual learns is essential to lifelong success: “Knowledge is Power.” I thoroughly enjoy being immersed in learning alongside my clients. Education(which is closely correlated with fiscal stability)leads to healthy self-esteem and the ability to thrive in this wondrous world.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
In the event that sessions exceed 4 hours per week, it is taken into consideration.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I possess 20 years of hands-on teaching experience. My formal classroom experience includes lead teaching at BOCES New York and Page Private School. During my time as a librarian at Page Private School, I had the privilege of teaching students in PK-8th grade. I was a professional assistant for the admissions programs at both PBCC and FAU, and degree auditing was a significant portion of my job. Working in the admissions offices for three years has allowed me to help my current high school client base prepare for college. Improving SAT scores for my students is something that I have been very successful at achieving for over 15 years. I am incredibly successful with clients who have ADD or ADHD; I find students who have these challenges are an absolute joy to teach! I have a degree in Early Childhood Development, an honors Associates, Art History BA, English BA, and another BA in Interdisciplinary Sciences. Degrees only matter if one has the empathy and skills to apply the knowledge supposedly contained therein. I pride myself on my ability to foster positive change(and I am proud of my degrees too! ).
