What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I will first evaluate your general level and make sure to understand your goals. I can custom make our session to your needs. I will take into account the best way for you to learn. We will usually start with some mundane conversation to then focus on a topic of interest. I will provide you a Google doc where you will have a written trace of our lesson.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am a native speaker, and have tutored French for 7 years. I have experience with high school French level and AP French, university French class, business French, scientific French, DELF French all levels and TCF French.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started when I moved to the US for the first time. It started very casually with me trying to teach some phrases to my friends, then I fell in love with teaching and getting to meet people from so many different walks of life and all over the world thanks to French.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with all levels (A1 to C2) and all ages (ranging from 7 to adults)

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
My recent projects are to learn Spanish and Cantonese. It is still an ongoing process, but a lot of fun. I love languages, and learning new ones just reminds me about all the difficulties and interesting facts there are about them.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would suggest for you to try working with multiple tutors at the same time. The variety is very helpful, and it helps to keep you motivated. The best is to get the most exposure through different means. Also make sure to tell your tutor the level of fluency you want to achieve.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What level of fluency do you want to achieve (Are you ok with having an accent? Is grammar important to you? or do you just want to speak well enough to be understood?)? How invested will you be? (like any other subject, you need consistency to truly see an improvement) Are you willing to put in the effort necessary? or is it just a past-time that you enjoy? (nothing wrong with that, but you just need to have clear goals)
