Introduction

I have over 12 years of experience teaching children from different backgrounds between the ages of 4-16, which includes pre kindergarten, elementary middle and high school children. I also offer ESL lessons for people of all ages, to help them achieve their desired level of proficiency in English. I do a free one hour session at the beginning, so I can meet my students, understand their personalities, get to know them and evaluate them. Based on this, I build a personalized plan customized to suit their needs and help them achieve their goals. I do offer discounts if 3 or more classes are necessary weekly. - For pre kindergarten and elementary school children, I work with them based on their level and their needs. This includes everything that they have on their school curriculum and more. - For older kids who are in middle school and high school, I provide classes for Math, Science and Computer programming. - I also provide assistance with homework as required. I believe in tracking the progress made, so I provide monthly reports on topics covered and the performance of your child, so you can feel assured and at ease. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge $55/hour and and offer discounts depending on the number of hours and the length of time for which instruction is needed. I charge a lower rate if more classes are needed per week. This is particularly beneficial for younger students who benefit more from shorter classes scheduled more often during the week. This can be discussed based on need.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I do a 1 -2 hour free session at the beginning, so I can meet my students, understand their personalities, get to know them and evaluate them. Based on this, I build a personalized plan customized to suit their needs and help them achieve their goals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a qualified computer science engineer. However, teaching young kids is my passion and I have over 8 years of teaching experience.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I used to teach and mentor middle schoolers when I was in high school and then worked as a college lecturer for a while. Later on in life, I spent time teaching my 3 year old to read and was thrilled when I had her reading fluently in a very short period of time. I just loved it and since then, I have been working with kids every chance I get. I just love helping them connect the dots and watching them gain confidence as they master skills and come into their own.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Over the years, I have worked with kids from different backgrounds and ethnicity. I believe in adapting my process and plan for each child so they can reach their full potential.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I taught a child who had lost all confidence in herself, because she couldn’t keep up with her friends who were getting good grades in school. It took a good 4 months of hard work to get her smiling, enthusiastic and confident again.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would say look for someone who can connect with your child and will put in the hours and effort necessary to nurture your child’s academic needs.
