Introduction

The LSAT is hard, but your studying doesn't have to be. With Gameplan Tutoring, your plan is custom-built for you with considerations for your timeline, budget, study schedule, and accommodations. Many people studying for the LSAT don't know where to start. I'm here to give you a personalized plan of action with detailed homework and drills. I understand how people learn from my experiences as a classically trained musician and teacher. My years of being a VA licensed educator taught me that everyone can learn with enough patience and the right curriculum. You can learn the LSAT and I would love to help you. I want you to spend less time studying and learn more efficiently. I scored a 176 in a single take in October 2020 and I've been teaching the LSAT ever since. I specialize in helping those who have a full-time job and don't have 5 hours to study every day as well as students with high anxiety. I teach online 1-1 and group rates are available. In-person classes are available in Rossyln, VA. Contact me to set up a free consultation so we can get your Gameplan started. -Alissa Forbes

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I charge a transparent hourly rate of $180. This includes 1-1 tutoring, homework, drills, access to the GPT formal logic course, and between-session assistance. No commitment is necessary. Need just a few hours? No problem. Need a lot of hours. No problem there either. Please reach out directly for group rates. I have other tutors available for a lower rate. Please inquire if you’re interested!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I want to know what your goals are and then I figure how I can help you achieve them. I use a diagnostic test to understand general strengths and weaknesses if a student has never taken the test before. If you have already been studying for a while, we will assess where you are currently and make a plan from there.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am a licensed educator in Virginia. Moreso, my primary subject was music education--which is a skill-based subject. Success on the LSAT relies primarily on skills and intuition which are 100% learnable.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
When the COVID 19 pandemic hit, I was virtually teaching during the day and wanted to explore other career opportunities in my free time. I realized I enjoyed studying and taking the LSAT so much that I wanted to spend more time in the material before going to law school.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked with students with ADHD, anxiety, and PTSD. I have adult students switching careers as well as fresh out of college students. Additionally, I've worked with students with accommodations. I've taught students who saw 20+ point increases in scores and several who scored in the 170's.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Work with someone who knows the LSAT in and out. The LSAT is different from any test out there. A good tutor should help diagnose your needs with the test and have tangible solutions on how to improve. They should teach you how to conquer the material and take a proactive approach on how to solve difficult questions before you see them.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
How do you differentiate your instruction for your learners? What tools and methods do you use to teach? What are the expectations of taking practice tests and homework?
