Introduction

Feel free to look me up by name, college, subject, and tutor—I'm easy to find. PLEASE NOTE MY RATE. Serious inquiries only, please: SERVICES: -SAT + ACT Prep (all sections) -Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions -Personal Statements -Professional Cover Letters + Resumes -And more! Hello! My name is Caroline. I am an experienced and highly trained private professional tutor of 13 years, specializing in all sections of the SAT, ACT, and all aspects of College Admissions Prep. I am a Princeton graduate where I was an English major. I scored a 2350 out of 2400 on my SAT: 800 Reading, 800 Writing, 750 Math. LOGISTICS: I am based in NYC and I use Facetime for remote tutoring. I am very well-versed in remote tutoring as I have tutored exclusively remotely for many years, well before COVID-19. I am flexible as I tutor all 7 days a week. I provide all of the necessary materials. PAYMENT: Test Prep sessions are the standard 1.5 hrs and are prorated. One HIGHLIGHT of my test prep: I pride myself on having a lengthy list of important tricks and strategies that you are highly unlikely to find elsewhere as I have developed most of them myself. In fact, it is not uncommon that my students' scores improve an equivalent of 80-110 points on the SAT/3-4 points on the ACT after just ONE session. ADMISSION RESULTS: with my test prep and college admission prep, I am thrilled to have helped over 500 students over the years who have gained admission to top schools like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Northwestern, UMichigan, Dartmouth, Amherst, Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, UPenn, and Tufts among likely every college (across ALL tiers) that you have heard of (please see more in my photos below). I stand by my work 100% and look forward to impressing my clients. I hope to help and discuss further!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Test Prep: $145/hr College Admissions and Essays: $175/hr

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Standardized Test Process: I like to look through the student's past tests and scores (if they have any) to evaluate strengths and weaknesses and gauge improvement potential. I discuss the major test strategies and make sure the student starts to employ any she's not utilizing already. I assign practice tests for weekly homework and go over the incorrect problems in the following session. I have my students cut out the problems they get wrong and paste them in a spiral notebook so they have a central place to study--my students love this tactic and it helps them get great results.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Every single type, including those with learning differences, ASD, and IEPs; I tailor their prep to suit their individual needs.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Experienced tutors know to provide their students with REAL practice tests, and to ensure these are taken TIMED and in ONE SITTING multiple times prior to the real test date. As I say, you cannot run a marathon for the very first time on the day of your marathon! If tutors do not implement these practices, that is a major RED flag. Many students come to me after a lack of progress from working with unqualified tutors. There are tutors who charge less per hour, but this will not save you money if they are not top-quality and must work with the student for a longer period of time.
