Introduction

I enjoy seeing students learn that test-taking is much easier when they become better prepared through better strategies and thorough review. Also, I like to see students be able to truly do their best. I excel at diagnosing and addressing what is keeping students from scoring their best. Most of our students improve their SAT or ACT score when they learn better ways to approach the tests. The majority of our GRE, GMAT, and LSAT students improve their scores significantly as well. Our students increase an average of 166 points on the SAT, and around 90% improve their SAT score by at least 100 points. Many improve by more than 200 points. On the ACT, most of our students improve by around 4-6 points. Available mornings, afternoons, evenings, even weekends. Contact us for specific times. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We try to find out how the student did on a previous PSAT, SAT, or ACT in order to find out what areas need attention. We can administer a diagnostic test if needed.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

All of our instructors have at least a bachelor's degree in addition to experience teaching test prep.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started out teaching continuing education courses at local community colleges.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We have worked with students who are preparing to take the SAT, ACT, and PSAT. Some of our students are aiming for a high score on the PSAT in order to qualify for a National Merit Scholarship. Others need to obtain a certain score in order to qualify for other scholarships. We have also helped students prepare essays for college admission as well as for scholarship applications.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We helped a student who was applying to some of the military academies study for the SAT and ACT. He ended up making impressive improvements on both tests and ended up with very competitive scores. This project took about 10 months.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Parents looking for a test-prep tutor or test-prep class need to find out how much experience the instructor has. Knowledge Guides has some of the most experienced instructors in the business.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Do they want a short term course or a longer term program. Also, do they want a course that just gives everyone the same strategies or a course that customizes and matches the strategies to the individual student.
