Thanks for checking out my profile! I began tutoring full-time in 2019 after graduating from Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL). As a 27 year old with over 5 years of experience tutoring, I can relate to my students on a personal basis and explain material in a way that is practical and simple to follow. I teach many different subjects, including all levels of Spanish, all levels of math through calculus, and SAT / ACT prep. My favorite subject to teach is Spanish, because I began learning it in high school and became fully fluent after living for a year in Madrid, Spain! I like to tell my students this because it shows how school can lead to exciting paths in the future. I look forward to working with your student to help achieve them their full potential!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge $75 per hour and accept payment either in advance or the day of the scheduled session.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I usually schedule a phone or Zoom call with new customers prior to our first session. This allows me to get to know the client on a personal basis and to understand their specific goals and needs in tutoring. From there, we schedule our first session, which will be planned based on the subject matter and student’s goals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) in May of 2019 as a business major and a Spanish minor. In high school, I took as many AP and Honors classes as possible. My academic background gives me the experience and skills necessary to help students excel at all different levels of learning. The combination of my Spanish minor and year spent living in Spain allows me to teach both written and conversational Spanish.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I began tutoring as a side job in high school and continued working as a tutor throughout college. After graduating, I decided to pursue tutoring as a full-time job. Since then, I’ve worked with hundreds of students across a wide range of classes. My passion for Spanish and strong academic background have led me to specialize in Spanish, math and SAT prep, but I continue to teach other subjects as well, such as English and ACT prep.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I primarily work with high school and undergraduate students, but I also work with many working professionals looking to learn Spanish.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Customers should always consider whether the tutor is a good fit on a personal basis for the student. Subject expertise is important, but tutoring is most effective when the student and tutor click on a personal level. Having a good personal connection in education is often the missing link to success for students.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Customers should always consider what they hope to get out of tutoring and set realistic expectations for learning. Whereas some students need help with time-management and big picture organization, others just need an engaging teacher to clear up challenging subject material.
