Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Base price is $60 per hour. We offer discounts for siblings.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We will assess and continue to assess your student as they learn and move forward. The goal is to strengthen their retention and relationship to the subject matter by the time final report cards are due.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
All tutors are certified with college degrees.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have been teaching and tutoring children for over 15 years. I have homeschooled my son, and over the years, taught hundreds of students. I love watching children light up when they understand a topic and bringing them passion and excitement seems to be what lights them up the most! When you love the subject, they cant help but love it!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have successfully taught 2 year olds how to read, write, and do math. I have also taught college undergrads and everything in between!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We recently began teaching a 9 year old who HATED reading. However, before the school year was finished, he was absolutely loving writing stories and our sessions would run long because he wanted to finish reading his stories to me! I love these moments!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
It is best to view this as a partnership. We customize your child's learning process to narrow down any concepts that might have been missed, while also holding them accountable for the work being given at school. It's a very wholistic approach. For example, If you are struggling with reading/reading comprehension, we will also dig into word problems with math as well because the two are closely related. We want your child to fully understand the material more than we want to stick to any specific teaching style.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What subject do I need help with? Do I want online lessons? What is most important about my childs lessons with a tutor? What is my budget for the semester/school year?
